starting a new project and i'm going with the option of Google Blog to reduce the costs , so if you have any experience please let me know.
Btw it rare to see a website with the domain ".......blogspot.com " in google first pages .

Both can work but if you have budget, go for wordpress.

Use both if you can, that's my advice.

Build 2 and see how it goes...

Btw yeah, it's harder to index these pages, not impossible just harder than it used to be.

Today's been 1 month since I did a web 2.0 on wordpress.com with 8 unique, 500+ words articles (a high quality I might add ). It has yet to be indexed. I barely got the homepage indexed yesterday after adding web 2.0 in my GSC. I haven't built any backlinks to it though, so that might have something to do with it.

Some suggested that Blogspot blogs might get indexed faster due to the fact that it's owned by Google, but I've seen comments saying otherwise.
Go for both.

Sincerely, I would strongly advise doing something else with the time invested.
I honestly think the time I've put into those articles would have been better invested just replying in forums on niche-related topics.

L.E. Sorry, I just saw you were talking about a personal money site, not for backlinks.
In this case, I can add that 3 years ago I was getting 200UV/day organic to a free wordpress.com blog. It does work, but you don't own it so there's that.

for ranking on their own?? Neither. Platforms don't matter, it's the on- and off-page SEO that does the trick.

However, I would recommend Wordpress for 2 CRUCIAL reasons: 1) it's your own site, so you decide how long it stays online, not google... and 2) Wordpress offers way more options with their plugins than blogspot will ever be able to.

I really suggest that you go with your own hosting. This means you own your web not google.
If you go with blogger, what will happen if you lost your password? or google doesn't like your blog and delete it?

yes, it's very rare for something like that to happen, but for something that may potentially in 5 figures, why take a chance?

I'd invest a few bucks in my own domain and hosting.

You can start with any of those. But I recommend to go with wordpress on your own hosting if you have budget, As this will give you more exposure about the most used CMS.

WordPress comes with much more options and is way more customizable, it's definitively better,
you can go with blogger as well, but you should use a custom domain at least, it's almost free and would give you an advantage for both branding & SEO

If reducing the cost is your main concern, then you can just buy a domain and host it on blogspot for free

Wordpress is needed if you wanna use a bunch of plugins for complex integrations.
You can use blogspot with a custom domain, though, if you literally just wanna blog, and focus on content marketing.
Both can rank, but your blogspot blog will probably look pretty simple, as well.

As most people suggested if you have the budget, get a domain and go a wordpress installation + $1/month hosting (or free). If you want to use a web 2.0 platform I would go with blogger as I do see them getting indexed a bit faster and link juice does get passed. Using your own domain is always doing to help = stronger brand anchor text.

I suggest you the wordpress if you have good budget. But if you have low budget like me than google is the best way.
