Which method, should one start with, on their very first journey?

Hi everyone. I'll be going on my very own journey really soon, and I'm torn between two methods. I'd greatly appreciate it if someone who has personally experienced either one of these methods, or better yet, both of it, to give me some input, advice & direction.

I will try and include some pros as to why a particular method might be beneficial to me.

THE METHODS
Rank and Rent
Viral content/News site

Why rank and rent?

For some odd reason, I've always been very attracted to this method. Maybe because I've done online arbitrage before, and have been pretty successful with it in my niche. The only reason why I stopped, was because of the platform I was selling services on. They went money hungry and flooded their app with a shitload of ad's and made listing on their app payable. Which, in turn, drove tons of traffic away.

My point for the above is, I've realized through past experience that I've got the ability to connect with clients/leads really well and gain their trust. Which usually converts to sales. I also picked my suppliers really well and did my own QC on them, because I cared a lot about my reputation. Seeing as I had numerous clients referred to me from existing ones. This was what a lot of other competitors in my niche on that platform lacked. Which is why I was able to outsell the majority of them.

Also, there was a post by a user here, sharing a rank and rent method that BassTrackerBoat responded to and he mentioned something along the lines of him handling the leads/answering the calls himself. Which converted a lot better. Which, I actually happen to have experience with.

As for ranking and renting, I was thinking of getting into the car sales niche. I've got a close friend who runs a car dealership, who is doing very well on his own. I spoke to him just last night about his thoughts on me helping him acquire leads. He told me that most people in his industry, where I am from, will not blind pay for leads. Most of them will pay per sales closure and that is what he practices as well. Which is fair enough.

So, he has offered me a flat fee of $500 for each lead that I bring him that he manages to close on. He will also be providing me with a couple other contacts/companies that he has worked with closely who he thinks would be interested in this. He will be talking to them about it sometime next week. We even spoke about a tier system where I could potentially earn from my referee's who refer their F&F. But let's not get ahead of ourselves first.

Why viral content/news site?

Honestly, I have nothing much to say for this one as I am totally new to it. I think my only strong point for this is that I personally know a bunch of local influencers and actors/actresses. Clearly not the Hollywood type (i wish) but I believe each of them has a large enough following for me to gain some traction off. I've never approached any them about the services I used to sell because it was totally unrelated to their niche.

Many of them are also 100% organic. They have high engagement rates and a lot of their followers' range from around 15 - 35 years of age. Which would really suit the viral content niche IMO. Since there will be no direct selling, they have no problems sharing/commenting about posts from my site.

So, guys. That's all I have to share. I really hope someone who has had experience with both methods can point me in the right direction. Maybe a good up to date ebook of one of the methods? Mind me, I will definitely be doing my own research as well before diving into any of these as I will eventually be "working" with friends with either one of these methods.

Good luck, I don't have any experience with either method. I'm interested in the rank and rent so will see how you do with that. How did you first learn about rank and rent

I believe the first time I ever heard about it was on YouTube. Not sure if I'm allowed to name the channel. What steps have you taken so far towards ranking and renting? Any good articles or people you know of that I should learn from?

I've not taken any with rank and rent, I've only ever done Amazon affiliate websites in the past but they are a slow slog that requires lots of content. I like the idea of ranking a small site get leads or even rent the site out.

Pm me the channel if your not allowed to post it here.

Definitely DEFINITELY rank and rent.

1. You'll build a list of business contacts that will further bring you more referrals.
2. You can up sell more services to them, be it seo, ppc, or social media management.
3. Also, once you have the credibility built you can shift to different business models with them.

Rank and rent or lead generation as I would put it, is much stable and can be scaled.

You should probably focus on the people who know how to close sales. Split test the best dealers and send traffic to the ones that have a higher conversion rate. It's ideal if you could have a pay per sale structure with good closers and pay per call/lead with the ones that don't.

Now as for the resources, go to the offline marketing section and sort threads by most views/replies. You can also sort by the most likes by the first post in the bottom settings. There is a lot of gold. I remember there was one post describing how you can rank sites for specific keywords and then rent out ad space on your website. Aside from that 710fla has shared some really solid parasite seo for local businesses techniques that you should give a read.

Maybe you can also try with contacting listings in classified sites or create your own listings and spam classified sites. don't have experience with this but just food for thought

Sent you a PM. Just don't follow the tutorials there anymore, though I think it'll get you a better understanding of how the process works.

Thanks a ton for your input! I've read a bit on parasite SEO and will look into it further. Read somewhere that we can even link our money sites from these parasite sites.

For this, would you say I should target only local high authority sites or global ones will work as well? Have plenty of other questions but I think I'll do some searching first unless I can't find any answers.

Since you already have connections with a car dealership, then start with that. $500 per closed lead is a great deal in my opinion.
If this works, do the same for real estate & clients for lawyers and clients for loan companies.

Yeah, real estate would probably be my next target since I have friends in the industry. Thanks for your response!
