tl;dr; it is not a good product!
that's a bit exaggerated. For some it's better than the Air M1, for some it's not. But that's always the case.

I have the Air M1 (didn't want to wait for a year for the M2 and am not fond of the shape of the M2) and I love it. But I'm sure I can get used to the M2 as easily as the M1. People are just nitpicking to find stuff that's "wrong" with it. And I don't understand why some compare it to any Pro. It's an Air, don't compare it to a Pro (unless the Pro is intel based, than, maybe, yes, to some degree)

I use an Acer fixed computer, and also a Thomson as Laptop.

MacBook Air M1 , I have to pay for all my shit ( any free app for video editing)

I use custom desktop for all my day to day work but I have Lenovo and HP laptops too.

Dell G5 7588, the keyboard sucks and the brightness of the screen is horrible. Going to "downgrade" to a lenovo thinkpad in the ner future so I can get a better keyboard and screen that is bright even though it doesn't have the same performance.

Well, I guess it is because of the price. With a good discount (which currently is going on), M2 Air does become a lot more than what it was when it was launched. I am a MacBook pro user, and will never switch to air anyway lol. Air is aimed at people who want to be in the apple ecosystem for cheap, but still, have a laptop (and not a mac mini). The price did not make sense though previously.

Dell XPS 15 .. Macbook Pro before ..

But Desktop is the real deal for work.. using the laptops just for checking things while drink coffee/watching tv or on vacation for some fast/light work etc..
