Which is more important in Scrapebox?

I'm just starting out with SB and trying to figure out if I have things setup right. Which is more important, the connection or the computer?
In other words- I have a relatively slow computer (P4 3.4 Ghz with 4GB Ram) but a fast FIOS internet connection (20 Mbps).
Based on that, how many connections should I use and what would be the optimal setting for timeouts?

I'm still using free proxies - found on the internet, then tested in SB. I know the free proxies are causing some problems, but I want to make sure I'm setup as efficiently as possible , other than the proxies.

Personally I run a quad core but I found that SB sometimes creates memory leaks so I would say that you need enough RAM (which you have). Also I found that my HDD didn't keep up with my internet connection (SB was harversting faster than my HDD could write).

I have a similar down speed to yours on my home computer and I run 80 connections when harvesting urls for all search engines.
when fast posting I keep 30-50 connections open depeninding in the amounts of proxies at my disposal. I generally use twice as much proxies as connections so for 50 connections I use 100 proxies.

Your internet speed is also vital. With 20MBPS you can download on average 2mb which means every second you will be burning 2mb. Since blogs are really spammed out their size can go upto 3mb, if you think of it running 100 threads at 30seconds timeout will recieve alot of timeing out since those threads wont be able to load as you can only load around 60mb (where as you need 200mb) Btw this is only true for Autoapprove since they are spammed.

based on your connection,for posting you ca open 2 instances of scrapebox and use 30 connections on each. And 10 private proxies if you want higher succes rate

I'm doing a slow/accurate posting right now and noticed that at the bottom, my CPU useage is showing to be 98-100%. Does that mean I have something set wrong?
