Which is better in my case? using wordpress/joomla/drupal?

I am looking to create an admin panel through one of those CMS

• Wordpress
• drupal
• joomla

I have some html templates but those will take a long time to get what I need.

What I need exactly is something that uses the CMS to provide a backend to the users of a company while I am the admin using the backend of the cms to manage the pages they are accessing it.

I need help from you to know which is better and probably a ready made template for that, ready to use directly.

Joomla always causes me headaches, when you get tied to extensions that require compatibility mode, legacy mode, etc. Incredible hassles if there is ever an exploit that requires you to upgrade.

I had a website on Joomla 1.5, upgrading 10000 pages to Joomla 2.5 was the biggest hassle of my life, and don't get me started on all the work that was done to get functionality working again.

WordPress is a lot nicer with their upgrades, and plugins are a lot easier handled if you ever need a bug squashed or something.

I have no experience with Drupal so I cannot say anything about that.

Sounds alot like an intranet - if thats the case: check drupals openatrium distribution!

I could be wrong, but openatrium might be a little overkill unless he has a corporate budget to work with. I've built something similar for a client using Joomla and the community builder (CB) extensions. While the name sounds like it is more for social networking, it is very powerful and you can do some wicked customization (or rather configurations) to it without a ton of difficult coding. At the end of the day an intranet is really just a private member site. Add some "collaboration" functionality and you are good to go.
