I'm working on some keyword targetted websites. So, I'll register some domains..

For keyword what is your name;

what-is-your-name.com
whatisyourname.com

Which is the best ?

minus hyphens if you can, although its not a major problem if there are hyphens as long as you dont have more than 3.

Like davioli said, the second one will work better. While it maybe harder for people to read, search engine won't have any difficulty to read and index it. Make sure your domain contain your keyword.

For example, you decided in niche 'weight loss tips'. Rather than weight-loss-tips.com, it would be better weightlosstips.com

As already posted, the second one is better if it is available.

From my understanding, Google doesn't see hyphens, so it's viewed just as if they weren't there.

The problem with hyphens is most people won't remember to put the hyphens in the search.

The only thing that might speak FOR hyphens is the SE recognising your domain better as separate keywords. However just type "black hat" into google and you'll see that these words are also highlighted as keywords into domains without hyphens. No hyphens all the way !

Google doesn't like characters in between keywords, of course go for the no hyphens if it is available.

i'll choose the domian name without characters .

glad that GreenSea ask. i just want to post a question about it to make sure my opinion.
