I prefer, and am much more familiar with cPanel.

It's not a fair comparison, although both are Web Server Control Panels.
On the first hand, cPanel is the industry standard when it comes to linux-based hosting providers, meaning a larger community if something goes wrong (which usually does when dealing with Web Servers). On the other hand, Plesk, while being quite stable, is mainly focused on Windows-based Web Servers, despite being able to run on Linux.
So if you're launching a hosting business, cPanel is the more straightforward solution.
You can also take the DirectAdmin route. Well... it works. That's all I can say about it.
BTW, if you know how to manage servers and you're doing it for a personal project or a couple of sites only, you can opt-in AAPanel or even better Nginx + manual setup. As they're more cost effective compared to above.

cPanel is more popular for Linux-based hosting. Plesk is more user-friendly due to a modern interface.
The Plesk control panel has separate licenses for 10 to around 30 websites, and hence works out to be cheaper if you have fewer websites. For a larger number of websites, cPanel is a more affordable option.

I think cPanel is best

cPanel is alot more popular and in demand by farrrrrrrr
If I had to choose, I would choose neither.
If I was forced to pick, cPanel since I am more familiar with that than plesk.

Because in this case, it is important to know what people are inclined towards at the best and immediate time.
cPanel is best for Linux hosting, offering more flexibility and a familiar interface. Plesk works for both Windows & Linux, with a cleaner UI and better security. If you need compatibility & advanced features, go with cPanel; for ease of use & Windows support, choose Plesk.

cPanel is more familiar control panel and easy to use so the cPanel is the best option.
