If you know any good SEO tutorials, books or anything that will help me learn how to do SEO please tell me.

matthewwoodward.co.uk has some decent tutorials

In general though, it's not really written down anywhere very explicitally so you've just got to stay on the forum, get a general idea of what everyone's on about then read in between the lines.

You will have to try it for many times by yourself. Most likely you will do something wrong in many cases before you get to the point where you know what you are doing, but that's okay. It takes some time, just don't expect people will share all their secrets with you. :)

My personal advice would be to study on-site/on-page SEO first.

The best way to do this is to reverse-engineer the biggest sites in your niche.

Like for me, I'll go to Copyblogger and take a look at their source code... how do they layout the page, what heading does the title use? H1/H2? Where are the main keywords seen? Are they in the meta-description/title?

Etc.

This is the hard, but "real world" approach to learning on-page SEO by experimenting and learning from already ranking sites.

Look for journey threads on this forum and see what sorts of things people are doing. The various questions and answers would be a good foundation.

Lots of great free information on here if you look hard enough. http://doseoyourself.com also provides free help and tutorials on learning SEO yourself.

But just remember, It's a never ending learning curve

You are in the right place. My advice to you:
-Learn/read everything.
-Read all the journeys ( learn from theirs mistakes and successes )
-After you have collected enough knowledge, try and build one niche with one easy keyword. Try and rank it to the first page. When you succeed GO BIG!

Good luck

i think this little zen poem will teach you something

To follow the path:
look to the master,
follow the master,
walk with the master,
see through the master,
become the master.

BHW is having ton of resources.so start right now and implement what you learn.case study is the best thing you can do to learn yourself from your mistakes.

:)

Start with the sticky posts in the white hat SEO section of BHW. I'd second checking out the tutorials of Matthew Woodward, cutting edge link ideas of Brian Dean and beyond that, reviewing all materials related to actual SEO journeys and case studies as posted on BHW or elsewhere on the web. This will most easily separate the true signal from all the SEO 'noise' out there (namely, the people parroting the guru/Cutts corporate line).
