Anyone promising to offer native quality for that rate (or anyone expecting to get such quality for a low price for that matter) is probably delusional.
As @MisterF always says; if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.
Your best bet is to test here and there, see what suits your preferences and budget.
PS: I'm referring to $1-2/500 words content. You can get pretty good quality for $1+/100 words.

Wow that's really high, $500-750 per 500 word article. I had some students from the US asking for $15-20 per 300 words - the quality was good, not perfect but good enough for landing pages. Is that a normal rate you work with or the best you can offer?
