As per my knowledge, Search Engine Land is one of the best blogs from where you can easily get useful information about SEO as they regularly share new and updated information about the development in the SEO world. You can also go for the SEMrush blog. If you check out the SEMrush Youtube Channel, you can see a lot of courses there.

I get it from the best source there is: the SERPs.
I see people paying hundreds of $ / month for tools that give them the same free info you can get by analyzing the SERPs directly.

I follow some blogs in the industry, like backlinko, ahrefs, moz, mattdiggity, etc but truth is that most of them rarely post anything new. They are just rewriting information that you can already find on hundreds of places somewhere just for the sake of getting more traffic and popularity to their sites. It is rare to happen upon information that is fresh, data-backed and useful/practical at the same. At least this is my opinion.
Like some guys have already stated reading and studying Google patents can be really helpful and give you insights on how certain parts of the Google algorithm might work. It's been only few months since I do that but there is some really interesting information once you start digging deeper. I like seobythesea and of course you can always search for patents here https://www.google.com/patents
... but all of this does not make any sense if you don't practice SEO, investigate SERPs and do tests every single day to find out what is working best in your niche or your clients niche.

Brain dean has some important stuff in his blog which i've found very useful. But I would say majority of my SEO knowledge comes from this forum.

I don't think you can get anything close to the info here. The journey sections are gold as well as occasional random post.
