Where do you study SEO?

I tend to use Ahrefs, Moz, Semrush for information, a lot of time is spent on google, thus you learn a lot just while engaging your brain whilst doing SEO. :)

If your destiny is the SEO and if you want to be in SEO elite (in context of effectivity and safety) - there is no other choice.
And if you want achieve it, you should spend at least 10 years for hard work and nice amount of $$ for tests.

In each other way - you have millions of SEO "professionals" which have same knowledge as you have.
And you never know - when and for what Google will ban you.

That is the reality and huge difference. However it's your choice.
you're spreading too much info man :D then again probably less than 1% here would spend his time learning all the math and IR required to understand important patents. ( totally worth it btw )

For this reason, only ~ 0,01% of people is able to achieve this SEO knowledge level and experience.
So, for me is very funny when beginners try to teach me the SEO or how Google working.

But much more fun I have by reading all kind of SEO gurus blogs,
because in reality they don't have more than 1 of 10 points of SEO knowledge.

Especially when "SEO guru" Rand Fishkin wrote that anchor text is not in the top 10 ranking factors,
or when the same guru is not able to index in Google his blog.

Next guru - Brian Dean wrote that Google PageRank is not correlated with Google ranking.
Where in reality, PageRank is the core of Google algorithm and each link is evaluated by PageRank.

The most funny think is when somebody write how important is DA, which Google not use at all,
or when Neil Patel wrote how to increase the Moz DA by disavowing bad links in Google.

Also mentioned Neil Patel is only the marketer and don't know nothing about SEO.
Just great entertainment :D

Cheers, Greg.

Shhhh........why do you want to create competetion? :suspicious::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

A lot of trial and error. Most of these SEO blogs are full of BS, so take advice with a grain of salt.

I don't care about, because before anybody will be able to achieve the same level, I'll be much far away.
The real danger (to other 99% of readers here) will create less than ~1% of people who will choose learn the SEO in this way.

Also everyone today can browse the Google patents.
But nobody know what will be tomorrow.

Cheers, Greg.

Learn how to use the tools that Google offers for SEO and so on

Experiment everything youself. It grinds my gears when person says he/she knows hundreds of theories about SEO ... how it works, etc ... but has 0 practical experience ... it's probably the worst :D

Chris Palmer's seo YouTube channel is quite good, it has great information that could help you to learn even more about SEO. You should take a look.

I'll write only the one popular quote related to all kind of seo guru blogs / YouTube channels:

He who can, does. He who cannot, teaches.

This is the only one truth about all of them.
Cheers, Greg.

Out of these already mentioned, I like Ahrefs, Moz, and Backlinko. Also, you can find a bunch of useful information on Search Engine Journal and Search Engine Watch. Still, you can never be sure that something works until you test it.

Thanks all for the great discussion. Very informative.

BHW is a gold mine - and like mining it takes a bit of work to find the nuggets and avoid the fools gold.

Learning comes from personal failure OP , testing theories that you read on the best marketing forum in the world BHW ! Read and implement then form your own hypothesis based on your in the wild testing and implementation. There are a lot of great resources but what is relevant today might not be relevant tomorrow SEO is ever evolving and so should you. Best of luck on your journey.

I don't think SEO is kind of esoteric.

1. Find your keywords and make a plan around it.
2. Do proper on page.
3. Do usual off page as SM accounts to get noticed.
4. Use those SM accounts to drive traffic by posting from website.
5. Outreach for quality niche relevant posts-backlinks.
6. Build X amount of PBN's to push the serps.
7. Cultivate patience and wait a year to yield fruits.

That's it, no mystery.
Big G favors jobs well done.

I personally like moz blogs. They are easy to understand.

I second for Ahrefs blog. Lots of practical information you could find there. But the most important thing after that is, TAKE ACTION!
