Where do you get your images?

The title is pretty self explanatory here really, where do you get your images?

More specifically what I'm interested in though is paid but cheap images. I've found a handful of free sites, some of which actually have halfway decent images. I love the free sites, nothing is better than free!! But sometimes they don't always have what I want and in those instances, I don't mind paying for images. I've been using dreamstime images but I can't help but think there have to be cheaper stock photo sites out there. I mean, an image on dreamstime in any respectable size or quality cost $10-$20 bucks or more.

I realize there are places where this is considered cheap for images and photographers put in a lot of hard work. But I'm pretty sure there are sites too where images are only a couple bucks.

If anyone knows of any, please share.

I usually find my images using Google Images with the "labelled for reuse" filter enabled and then I edit the images using Photoshop or Illustrator. If you need any free vector images, you could download my Vector Package in the "Downloads - Graphic design" sub-forum.

I've been using istockphoto for years as a designer. Flickr has been great for free images on my journey as an IMer. Just filter for creative commons images.

Pixabay is my favorite free one, I also use shutterstock and fotolia

Photodune images are pretty cheap if I remember correctly

Flickr has plenty of free images, just pay attention to the licenses and make sure you comply with the licensing terms if you want to go 100% white hat.

getty images had so many people ripping off their stuff, they just made it free
search getty images embed. you'll have a choice of over 50 million images free, to use on your blog/site/social media.

Google is my best friend. I use google to get my images for free. sometime I use Flickr also.

Lately, I've found myself making more and more photos on my own. Canva, has definitely become my best friend. Between Canva, and reusable images from the goog, I normally do just fine.

I just look for free images that I edit further to make them work for my purpose.

Google Images. Filter by license with reuse. Give proper attribution and you're risk free.

Photodune has been the cheapest that I have found. Images run about $1 and they have a decent collection.

I love using images from Shutterstock. As a designer I have seen photos from various stock photo websites. Whilst many websites offer really good photographs, for me Shutterstock always has the right image that I want.
