When will Facebook die?

Facebook is like Pepsi and Google Coca-Cola so they won't die in 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7 years...

40 years maybe... 90?

And if some new competitor appears with new technology or innovation google and facebook will copy it and done.

Why do you want to know? Seriously, are you planning on shorting the stock? Who cares what scheizekopf is in on top, Googliath, Facebook, Twatter, it's just another platform for you to learn and game.

You overestimate Facebook. Their service can be categorized as "entertainment". And people get tired of entertainment pretty fast. Its like with you favorite porno site, one day the videos become boring, aren't they? :-)

Two years ago Facebook was flourishing, a lot of conversations, many active people. Yesterday I logged in into my private account after a break of about half a year - yep half a year I didn't feel the need to login. And found out that 3/4 of my friends are no longer active. The remainders of the active ones are not interesting anyway, so I just logged out.

This has nothing to do with new technology, its the type of business that is gonna die no matter what.

find....
 
some people are waiting for facebook to die :D Oh my gosh what for i do not think this will die buddy it is growing more and more i hope it is sky limit.

Facebook ? the Time is up already, they start to Loose their Active Members, every month they have under 10.000.000 People Deleting their Accounts/Profiles...

Facebook/Twitter, was a Great Platform to make some Money, when they launched, NOW this sites are OVER SPAMED...
 
well we all hear our friends saying.. FFS facebook stop doign this and that!

I remember like myspace, it kept limiting what we wanted to do...
its human nature to want to "stalk" our friends and enemies, so once another simple easy to use network comes up we'll gradually move towards it.

I'd say... 5 years, max!
 
I don't know when will facebook die but , I know that: Google+ won't rise.
 
I think Facebook in its current form will be quite passe in about 3 years or so. Within 5 years if they don't seriously revamp with the new technologies that will be out by then, it will be in trouble. Anyone remember Friendster? LOL.
 
3 years at most. I'm working on a project that should launch, well we'll have a demo in 2 months max. This will change everything across a lot of platforms. The ideas been planted, and we have a team. It's to early to share information at this point, but it is a game changer.

The whole idea was born on people in our team being tired of fb, tw, and other social media aspects that don't deliver like they should.
 
Didn't the owner of Facebook say he wanted to close FB's doors somewhere in 2012? I saw someone mention that, but I don't remember where/who/how reliable it was so for all I know he/she was trolling. I'd say; google it before panicking! ;D
 
Facebook has a long life ahead of it. It's not like most other social networks ( myspace etc....) people are connected through Facebook and that's not going away for a long time. It has market share and there are just huge barriers of entry to overcome that.
 
Well, Google is the king of search engines for a lot of years, like facebook is the king of social networks, I think it will last more than 10 years...
 
Impossible for anyone to know. technology moves fast, so noone knows what will happen in 5 years or even 3 (might have a rough idea of 1 year).

FaceBook has proved to be much more adaptable and innovative than Myspace ever was. For example when G+ rolled out it only took FB several weeks to incorporate several key features that were designed to differentiate G+ from FB (such as the circles, and FB countered with smart lists).

My personal guess if FB is here for the long haul, much like Google has been for search.
 
I don't see FaceBook going away any time soon. There just aren't a lot of other competitors out there right now. Obviously FaceBook is constantly looking over their shoulder.

Until the time comes with technology advances so much more than basic social networking, FaceBook will continue to be on top. The only other way I see FaceBook going down is if someone purchases them, which I found highly unlikely at this point.

Twatter, now that's funny. I've checked G00gle and there is some kind of anti-social site where twats are gathering. I suppose when FB dies all its members will go to Twatter.
 
facebooks not going anyware its still growing by a min of 10,000 new users a day yup its slowed but not stopped yet
