Depends on the web 2.0 site. Some are picky, some not. The time interval between creating new properties on same site matters too.
I was using private proxies and everything worked great, fc2 is the only site i had problems with...

Simply create web2.0 & dont add any links for first 2 days. So after 2 days add the links of your money site. Then your web 2.0 will be safe. I am doing the same way for last 3 months. All my web2.0 are safe

I always prefer private or at least shared proxies. Maybe it's just the paranoia in me speaking, but I'd rather know I took precautions. Helps me sleep at night, otherwise I'd just twist and turn wondering if I'll wake to a banned account or 50.
You can get shared proxies really cheap, so I see no reason not to use them.
But of course, it also depends on the number of 2.0s you're building. I'm sometimes creating up to 100 per day so... yeah

People still don't get the use of proxies.
The purpose of using proxies to build backlinks is only when you are trying to open up multiple accounts on the same Web 2.0 and usually with Web 2.0s you don't need to do that because with a single account on a Web 2.0, you can create multiple pages on the same Web 2.0.
at OP, you don't need proxies to build Web 2.0s unless you are trying to build 50-pages trying to rank 50 different niche keywords on the same Web 2.0

Google cannot see that, but the Web 2.0 administrators can. If they see, for instance, that someone built 20 little blogs, all linking to one site for one keyword, they're probably going to delete them.
Here's a short list of Web 2.0 sites: I know there are lists of 10,000 of these floating around, but most of the sites on those lists are one or more of these:
1) they want to charge money, even for just a subdomain
2) they are extremely strict and will delete your site
3) they no longer exist

If you are just making one account per web2.0, you don't need to use any proxies. For more than one - yes you do need to use proxies.

Of course use private proxies. Google can catch your foot-prints and you'll get penalty as well. Buy some from HMA.

only use proxies if you are going to sign up to the same web 2.0 more than once, there is no point using proxies if you only make one account on each site. Google has no way of linking the blogs based on the IP the user signed up on as google won't have access to that data because the web 2.0 platforms don't make it public.
so if you are going to make lots of accounts (I mean lots every day) on the same site then you would be best using private proxies.

Semi-Dedicated or Dedicated Proxies or if you have budget issues then HMA VPN Pro can be good idea
