I am still learning, but I rely less on tools and more on checking the SERPs. If I see weak or small sites ranking, I take it as a good opportunity.

I'm also learning here, but I think low competition keywords are longer, more specific ones. In my experience, broad keywords feel too hard to rank for in the beginning.

Most tools do show similar data, so I’d focus less on the label and more on intent and actual SERP weakness. Sometimes a keyword marked “easy” is still competitive because strong sites dominate it. What helps is checking the results manually—look for weak content, outdated pages, or forums ranking on page one. That’s usually a better sign of a real low-competition opportunity than just relying on the tool’s score.

I check actual SERPs weak sites, forums, low quality pages ranking = opportunity. Don't rely only on tool difficulty scores.

I mostly ignore keyword difficulty scores and focus on manual SERP analysis. I look for weak authority sites ranking and long tail variations that still have search intent but low competition.

Optimizing those keywords is essential. You can categorize your keywords by topic by day, embedding them into your articles so that your page is recommended for any content you're looking for.

I try to check the SERP manually more now. If top results are weak like forums, lowquality pages, not fully answering, then it looks like good chance. Tools show similar data, but real competition is easier to see by checking results. Also going for long tail keywords helps a lot.

i check SERP manually more than tools now, like see top results quality and authority, if weak sites are ranking and content is not good then it’s low comp, also i look for long tail keywords with clear intent and low backlinks on ranking pages, tools just help but real check is google results.

My current process is heavily based on real data rather than guesswork.
That’s where the real gold is.
That’s the most accurate way to find low-competition keywords today, in my experience.
- I start by building a site around broad, high-intent topics (not obsessing over low KD initially).
- Do proper on-page SEO, internal linking, and get basic indexing sorted.
- Once the site starts getting impressions, I dive into Google Search Console.
That’s where the real gold is.
- I look for:
- Queries with impressions but low clicks
- Keywords ranking on page 2–5
- Long-tail variations I didn’t intentionally target
- Then I:
- Optimize existing pages for those terms
- Or create new pages specifically targeting those low-competition long-tails
That’s the most accurate way to find low-competition keywords today, in my experience.

i usually check long tail keywords with low KD in tools and then manually see if weak sites are ranking on page . if small blogs or forums ranking, i go for it and make slightly better content than them.

I keep it simple look for long tail keywords, check actual SERP results, and see if weak sites are ranking. I also use Google suggestions, forums, and Reddit for ideas. If content is outdated or thin, that is usually a good opportunity to target.
