What’s Your Learning Journey?

Hey everyone,

I’m curious to get to know you all better! Whether you’re doing SEO, Web Development, Graphic Designing, or something else how did you get started?

Did you go through college or university, or did you take the self-taught route with YouTube, online courses, or just jumping in and figuring things out as you went? And how long have you been doing what you do?

I’ll share my story: I started with CS50x, From there, I dived into web development through YouTube tutorials. During that time I pirated some bot development courses and start building telegram and discord bots

For SEO, I decided to get more structured training and joined an academy, and I’ve been doing SEO for the past 6 months now.

What about you? What’s your journey been like, and what learning resources helped you the most?

I mainly work in web development. At first, it was very difficult, there is so much information out there that you want to learn everything, get overwhelmed, and end up learning nothing.

What really helped me, was starting with a business idea. For example, I wanted to build a site to sell niche products, so I learned everything I needed along the way to make it work. That process taught me more that any structured course ever did.

Maybe because my way to learning is more visual, more of construction, more with things in your hands .

Before that, I tried some programming courses from Meta, but honestly, they didn´t do much for me. The best results came when I started building things on my own, learning by doing is what really made the diference.

That´s been my path so far, and I still stick to the same method today.

It all started as a hobby. I built my first website in 2007 when I was just 13 years old. It was a simple HTML/CSS template, but it marked the beginning of my journey.


In 2010, I took a basic course in HTML, PHP, and CSS, which helped strengthen my foundation. From there, everything else was self-taught — countless hours of learning through YouTube tutorials, experimenting, and building.


Today, that childhood hobby has grown into a full-time career as a professional website developer.

I was going to say "self-taught", but I actually got a free education online, including on this forum, so I didn't teach myself much - I was able to take advantage of all the free information available online.
