Aite brahs...

I'm looking at about 2.2421562%......

Where you guys keeping your kw density at these days?

6.5% is what i have heard is the newest level..

That's pretty high, where did you get that from?
I keep mine around 2 to 3%.

For me a certain percentage doesn't exist. If I have the KW at least once in the article, I can rank for that term.
Most of my sites/articles that are ranking are at about .8-1.5%.

Like others here I usually aim for around 2%, but I've had excellent rankings anywhere from .5% to up over 6%. So I no longer put a whole lot of focus on attaining a set density. I 'd rather have well written content that flows well and makes sense.

I make sure mine is 7% or less... works pretty good for muah...

i'd say its about competition. highly competitive keyterms should have higher density, say 3 to 5 percent.

lower competition can rank by mentioning the keyword once...

Don't post things you are not sure about, this is considered to be misleading and you could eventually get banned for that.

Sorry I am a newbie and I learned that in a discussion with our SEO firm that takes care of one of my main sites, commercial site. He said that after the last Panda Update he felt that it slacked off from 7% to 6-6.5%. I have not been very happy with the results we have been getting and that was one of the reasons I found this forum and learned of IM. We have been getting out back-linked from competitors also. Anyways sorry if I missed spoke....

I've always stuck around 2-3%. Some of the posts that say 6-7% seems really high.

It depends. The best option is just to write natural copy. But if you're going to start looking at keyword density, there's a balance between keyword density and incoming anchor text.

If you're going to go as high as 5% keyword density on your page, you have to be more careful that you don't go too heavy on linking to the page with exact keyword anchor text every time. High keyword density + linking mostly with same anchor text = overoptimization penalty.

If you keep your density around 2 to 3% and keep your exact anchor text to your page under 50% ... you shouldn't run into an overoptimization penalty. However, if you're around 5% density and 100% of the incoming anchor text of your links is that keyword ... expect a heavy penalty on your page.

I'm at 1.7-2.5%, but only if it is easily readable. It feels like a lot though, I might use less. I am ranking for keywords that I have less than 1% though, but they aren't WP sites.

There is none for google. and probably none for the other search engines. They look at backlinks as the most important factor. KWD could be 1 percent or 50 percent.

Lets see how you do with that 50 percent density, lol.

I use the keyword in the title tag and 1 time in the text. I usually use a variation of the keyword in the H1 - and more variations in the H2's. I'll use the exact keyword one time in the article. I rank for many

Welcome to 1998. Just be sure to make half of the keywords hidden, white text on white background. And use plenty of 1px x 1px links, too :D

Dont forget to cover it top to bottom in adsense ads and use clickjacking

Sometime many people make article un-natural by stuffing it with keyword to make higher Keyword density.

Its better to keep Keyword density at around 0.75% to 3%
