windows server 2003, 2005. Windows XP would be much better then VISTA, vista is crap! worst OS made by Microsoft. Windows 7 should also be fine, Windows XP drivers are compatible with 7... But if you just want to get the most out of your performance just stick with windows server 2003, if you don't feel comfortable with that then just use XP.

I've never really ran in to any problems running bots on Win Server 2008. It should run fine based on the specs you provided.

I'm using this PC with GSA SER + GSA CB + GSA SEO Indexer + SEnuke and its never using more than 1.5 GB from the RAM. It's starting with 700mb. That's why I think that Windows Server 2008 is the best choice for you.

I swear by Windows XP also. I have downgraded dozens of computers from Vista to XP and customers were all very happy...

I assume you mean win98SE!

With those specs, xp is your best choice -- and it runs most all seo tools I have ever tried on it.

Thanks everybody for the answers, still a lot of XP users, I see.

For all those talking about Linux: I've checked the requirements of the tool I've mentioned - none of them runs on Linux!
