I recently got my first email writing gig, but I'm a bit concerned about the pay. The rate is $5 per email, and I'm not sure if that's a standard rate nowadays.

I came across this Facebook post seeking copywriters, and after submitting some samples, I was offered $5 per email.

Is this typical in the current market? Also, could you recommend reliable sources for consistent work? I've tried platforms like Upwork, Freelancer, and Fiverr, but haven't had any luck in landing clients.

I've included two email samples below for your review so that I can understand if this rate is appropriate based on the quality:

Are you tired of being misled by fitness myths that promise the world but leave you in the dark?

Let's get real…

More exercise doesn’t always mean better results. Quality over quantity always wins the game; smarter workouts beat longer ones any day.

Cardio’s cool for shedding pounds, but it isn't the one-size-fits-all answer.

Spot reduction? Nah, that's just fairy tales. Fat isn't picky where it burns off, no matter what they say.

I don’t buy into these myths because truth is, only two things really matter for fitness goals.

Eating right and sticking to a solid workout routine are the keys that truly work wonders.

You can sweat buckets for hours, but without a good diet, you’re stuck on a hamster wheel.

Real success in fitness is not just about lifting or running; it’s about commitment and what you eat.

Your actions show your progress. You’ll only get what you consistently hustle for.

Many speak of improvements, but few are willing to put in the consistent effort.

For most, fitness is just wishful thinking, not real action.

So, ask yourself: Are you just wishing, or are you committing to your fitness journey?

This is just a sneak peek of what I reveal in my free Fitness Webinar. I bust myths that mess up your fitness journey.

It's like solving a puzzle; without all the pieces, you'll never see the full picture, which could explain why your efforts alone might not cut it.

Inside, you'll learn how to build killer workout routines and nutritional plans for best results.

Once you stick to it, it’s like finding that final puzzle piece.

i thought copywriters get paid at least couple hundreds per campaign, or revshare.
i've seen others make thousands for writing email or social media campaigns.
obviously these are writers with reputation and renown behind them.
$5 per email, how many do you expect to be writing? how many can you write per hour? do you think it's a fair wage?
i'm not even an expert copywriter but i know how much effort it takes to write copy about something you may initially know little about. no way does $5 sound fair. maybe to mass-produce chatgpt-level results.

Here's the best thing that you can do to start getting paid the amount you deserve: Start your personal branding.

Start to post value on IG or FB....or any other plateform where your potential customers hang out.

Start working for free with 2-3 customers in exchange for testimonials.

Thanks for the feedback. Am only able to write not more than seven emails per day.

I think I'll opt for revenue sharing especially when I am contacting B2B.

That sound like a good idea, what type of businesses do you think I should target that need email copywriters the most?

The very lucky ones. For most, it's a race to the bottom.

Give them a fill in the blanks email template for $5.
Or do 1 or 2 emails for free inexchange for testimonials and if they want more emails charge them a $20-25 for an email.
As you get good and get more testimonials more customers, you can charge more.

You can only work with handful of customers, so you need quality customers who are going to value your work and pay accordingly.

Your writing skills are very good. You can charge much more but initially you need reviews. For that you might have to work on less pay initially.

I don't really understand what you mean by fill in the blanks template?

Thank you for the feedback on the samples. I'll definitely work on getting testimonials and case studies.
