.... Has anyone taken Tim Burd's course and know what the heck they are talking about when they say the surfing method?

Thanks

Fairly simple strategy:

- If an ad set performs well at the start of the the day, double it straight away (need a ROI min 100%)
- Wait a few hours. If it continues performing well, double the daily budget again
- Leave it the next day. If it doesn't perform well, pause or drop the budget

The idea is you're riding the wave of Facebook's optimisation for your ad throughout the day.

Thanks a lot dude.

Just saved me few hundred bucks!!!! :D

People seem to stand by it and recommend it a lot, have you had success with it ?

Does it require manual bidding ? Or does it also work with auto-bid?

Hell no, what are they like $2k a pop? Pass on that shit. Plus they are like 12 hours long or something !
Actually the one I am talking about is $7500 for two day mastermind group. Its a lot to pay but if you get good stuff out of it then its worth it. Just curios if anyone had taken one before.

He sometimes records them and sells them afterwards for a fraction of the cost. Just wait for him to release the video recording and buy that for $500 or what ever he sells them for. Or pay the $7500 and see him live... the guy manages million dollar monthly budgets, so he def. knows his sh*t.

John did you manage to find Tim Burd's webinar on this technique?

You might also want to give Nicholas Kusmich who is the king of Fb ads a go...30000%+ ROI lol that is unheard of surely!

The guy runs ads for Tony Robbins and other big startups so I guess that says it all about his credibility :)

Sorry, I'm really bad with names :P but no, I haven't bought his webinar. If anyone has it share it :D

I'm also in Nicholas's group on FB... though its dead compared to Tim's group. There are gold nuggets shared in both of them, by the mods and by normal users too. Def. worth joining both.

I’ve had a lot of people ask about my speech replays lately so wanted to give you a list of them with a summary of each. Those of you that for the Asia replay from December know the massive value I always deliver and these are no different.

Geekout link - this was from the GeekOut event in Barcelona. In this speech I go over the 388 method which is an entire campaign structure, bidding method and budgeting strategy and I do a full campaign setup for you also. Great value here and the other speakers were amazing too. This is the foundation for having the best chance of success on Facebook.

iStack Barcelona - this was from just a week ago or so and in this I break down the Facebook algo for you piece by piece and tell you how to optimize each part to lower your cost per conversion. Once you understand how it all works it all makes a lot more sense. The other speakers at this did an incredible job also. Massive value

iStack Asia - this one is from last December and goes over my 6 manual bidding strategies as well as the shotgun and surfing method which allow you to scale very quickly to 6 figures daily and it works 100% of the time. What other scaling method works that often? Lol

I was looking for a blog post or tutorial on this 'surfing strategy' and land here. To get to know more I even now signed up in this forum.

I see all are paid course. Do you guys know if anyone explains this strategy in any of the blog post or video?

Did you read all the posts on this thread?

Yeap...read the comments. But wanted to know step by step to execute this strategy. Any course materials out there. - Not paid, of course

Does this work with Blackhat, where more scrutiny is placed on budget bumps?

The hell?

Ok Here is the Strategy:

(copied from @Sephrata cause you obviously didn't read it)

I think time of day plays into this a little as well. Back when Shark Tank first came out, I used to rip budgets to 10k a day, forcing it to spend 5k in the morning hours. Those were the days.

I am refloating this topic because I have a similar question.

How does the shotgun method work?

All I have been able to gather up until now is:
- I program a bunch of campaigns to begin early in the morning.
- I keep a close track of them. Then I stop those that don't perform well.
- I then distribute their budget to the active campaigns.
- So on and so forth until I only have, like, 4-5 active campaigns.

Is this about the thick of it?
