What's the difference between expired and a new domain?

I've been watching some threads here talking about purchasing an expired domain.
I wanna know what's the benefit of expired domain
And how does it work?
Does it makes me rank higher?

Some expired domains have a great backlink profile - but you have to find the right ones (high quality backlinks, not previously used as part of a PBN or spammed, etc). So the right expired domain can help you rank faster than a new domain, but not all expired domains are created equal (and some may set you back instead of help)

Expired domains as the name suggests are domains that were registered and probably used, and now expired.

They typically have more authority in the form of backlinks and even topical/niche authority, than new domains. But this isn't always the case as some expired domains were either never used or just has bunch of useless links.

This authority tends to put them at a better position especially with regards to the infamous Google sandbox. They're typically not sandboxed and get to rank faster. Not always the case though.

I would have to see more data before confirming, but that looks like it was blasted with backlinks, so it was probably penalized. With that many backlinks and that high of a Page Authority, the Domain Authority should be much higher than 15 (high PA with low DA is often a sign of spammy backlinks). You can also check the backlink anchor text - if you see pharma, adult related, or other spammy looking anchor text, it's a dead giveaway that the domain was spammed and is now useless.

Expired domains already has backlinks which will save you time and money when link building. Just need to make sure the backlinks are strong and clean as well as other things like archive history and spam anchors.
