What's the difference between a $200 press release and $5 press release?

Really, you must analyze the donors. Because in some situations the difference can be only in ambitions of sellers.

Quality matters. Price is not decided by anybody's will. It is decided by some factors which includes quality. Somebody who is offering service in $200 is someone reliable. While fiverr is not that much reliable as compared to him, I think.

The difference between $200 and $5 will more than likely be the quality. You are going to pay more for better quality.

there is a big difference between the 200$ and the 5$ and that has got to do with the packages that this have depending on the companies offer definitely the higher the asking the higher the offers involved

The $5.00 press release is good to build backlinks to your $200.00 press release. The sellers of the $5.00 releases subscribe to cheaper annual PR services and earn their money back selling cheap PR services. The expensive packages have better authoritative reach for your press release thus the odds of getting displayed in sites like Google News, Huffington Post, Yahoo News are a lot better with the more expensive services.

Just be sure that the people selling a $200 PR aren't just buying it from the Fiverr seller or something like that. Just because something costs more doesn't automatically make it better. Read reviews and judge for yourself if you are really thinking about 2 options, one of which costing 40 times as much as the other. This goes for everything online.

This. The difference could be $195 profit for someone.

The difference in price is basically depending on the quality of the article and the sites where the article will be released. If its a sort of high authority sites then $200 will be worth it.

I'd find some of these replies actually funny...

Like saying the difference is $195. Just doing the math aye?

Anyways, obviously the difference is in quality and where they would submit these press releases. With $200 press releases you would expect well-written press releases written by English proficient writers whereas $5 press releases are sketchy in terms of spelling and grammar. You would rarely find high quality press releases at $5.

The $200 press releases are for companies that can afford it. If you are a mid-sized or small corporation you will gladly pay for a Press Release that is well written and distributed to authoritative sources. These companies have marketing budgets and if you are doing 1 Press Release per month and you want it done right, $200 is nothing.

If you are doing a press release for an affiliate site it doesn't have to be written perfectly and you probably don't care where it pops up on the internet.

The prices are for 2 different customers.

Great discussion. Thank you all. Does anyone have a view on Google news and whether getting on their has seo value? I've been there. No traffic value for me for sure.

All my press releases that were submitted using the free feature at pr.com have gone into google news.

Honestly I've bought cheap press releases, and I've bought expensive ones (though no $200 ones, that a bit steep).

The #1 difference is article quality. But NOOOO article is worth $195, now is it?

The #2 difference is distribution and the hustling they do to get it in Google News, etc, etc. I'd pay an extra $20 for this, no problem.

So IMO a $200 PR is a load of bullcrap 99% of the time. A $50 one, sure. But I personally have no need for bells and whistles, and my niche isn't going to go viral. So $5-$50 is my range.

The differences are listed below which seem to be nearly correct, there can be +-1-2 out of 100.

The buyer which has less money goes to buy $5 press release. So does he rank ? It depends on the believe he has on his seo and not the hope on the number and quality of the backlinks.

The buyer which has more money buys $200 press release. Does he rank? Pretty much yes with the low to medium competition keyword on page 1-3. This is because this buyer has the trust that spending more money would rank his website and he does not have any idea what is SEO. If he had the idea how to rank websites then he must be heading towards the cheaper source and he knows that links are links whether you buy from a $5 seller or a $200 seller. There is a saying in URDU which pretty much translates to this : Bigger the shop > higher the prices and quality is ok without any flaws.

Advice to the link buyers : Just learn seo and buy cheap links and better spend part of the earnings on donations as well. Putting all the belief on money ain't correct. Ask the one who lost the money and came to the footpath. (Just a warning to avoid bad days).
