I see some $200 press release packages. All they can guarantee is that you can get onto Google news as long as it's fresh content. But fiverr can get you on Google news. What's the difference between a $200 press release and $5 press release?

$200.00 will get you a backlink from a website with a whole lot of page rank for your money website, it can possibly help you dramatically rank up your money website for competitive keywords as will as oppose to the backlinks from fiverr are only good for one thing only and thats traffic.

If they are offering $200 press release then they might be really good. If it’s offered by an individual writer then he must have a name and reputation to uphold. However, many good PR writers can also offer the same service at half or even ΒΌ of the price. Yes, on fiverr you can get a press release for $5 and that’s because those who offer this service do not have a name yet and are working independently to earn a living.

    with a $200 release
-you are posting a on a high authority respected site
-better chance of getting the release picked up by other serious news sites
-leads to good diverse news links

The reason why someone like prweb/vocus or other real news release vendors don't guarantee anything is due to the fact that they don't know how great your news release is going to be.

Say you publish a release that your company now manufactures red widgets instead of blue widgets, that is a perfectly news worthy release but are news sites going to pick that release up... probably not.
Let me know if you have any other questions

    The difference is $195.

JCmcclain explained it well. While a $5 press release from Fiverr might seem like a bargain, these press releases are often low-quality and not worth your time. It's the same situation with backlink packages on Fiverr; you can order a $5 backlink package from Fiverr, but this doesn't mean you'll receive quality relevant backlinks. Even then, there's a chance that the $200 press release might be just as bad as the $5 press release depending on the provider.

Maybe if you buy the $ 200 price.

You get a lot of attention from the seller.
I think they will give you a great quality to you

This has nothing to do with anything.^^^
You buy a $200 release means nothing to prweb/vocus.
There are companies that buy one a day, you get the same release as they do.
What matters is how good your release is, and how likely other news sites are going to pick it. Think about a unique news angle.

I should have started with this...
-I have done at least 50 of the news releases with prweb/vocus $200+ releases
-I have also used guys at fiverr more than once for releases

Anyone can start a news release service, but only the news release services that are well known with high authority are going to get looked at by real news sites.

I agree with this statement. I'm hardly an SEO expert, but I'm not out chasing completely ridiculous keywords either, but I couldn't justify an expenditure like this for any amount of perceived SEO gain. Above I see someone comment that fiverr press release is only good for one thing which is traffic. I'll be frank - seo don't mean shit to me unless it drives targeted visitors, so I am under the assumption the most important thing is traffic - I'll take the $5 gigs, and keep my $195 .... if you needed a $200 press release you would know it. What do you think OP? Are you really at a place where you think you will derive better results by spending $195 more, and can you personally guarantee yourself a better return on that investment? If not - why bother.

Interestingly very few people commented on the possibility that buying 40 fiverr gigs for the same $200 might very well provide better SEO gains for you. It is a possibility, and depends on a lot of factors including your niche, competitiveness, etc... Apples to Oranges. Why would one even consider the prospective value of 1 PR for $5 as compared to 1 for $200. There is no comparison. However, 40 $5 gigs compared to 1 $200 press release ... now that one would be worth testing for sure. My money would be on the volume ... unless you somehow got picked up and syndicated as a result of the more expensive press release.

Just be sure that the people selling a $200 PR aren't just buying it from the Fiverr seller or something like that. Just because something costs more doesn't automatically make it better. Read reviews and judge for yourself if you are really thinking about 2 options, one of which costing 40 times as much as the other. This goes for everything online.

    Of course you are right.

Yet it is also true, that people will work harder if they see the big money

The difference is that the guy who charges $200 is way smarter.

-I had a release from prweb/vocus picked up by a major news site that was getting 100+ new visitors to my site /day... point is that it is not just SEO value.
-I agree that most people starting out can do more good with $200 than buy a news release.
-Those that say the difference in the two releases is just the $195, obviously have no idea.

this is wise advice. you will really want that $200 later.

do the press release yourself, it isn't a $200 job. just make sure your story is interesting, or has some angle that is trending right now

it may not seem like much money, but practicing discipline and not just "throwing money at the problem" is a very good habit to learn. only take the risk of hiring when you are literally too busy to do it yourself

Great discussion. Thank you all. Does anyone have a view on Google news and whether getting on their has seo value? I've been there. No traffic value for me for sure.

I would easily buy for instance a logo from Fiverr, however when it comes to a press release or SEO service then you just can't expect quality service for $5.

Given the fact that many of these 200 dollar PR companies nofollow their links, what's the difference between a 5 dollar press release and a 200 dollar press release?

    195 dollars.

I think it would depend on what kind of syndication these $200 PR services are offering...

I mean like if they're offering exactly the same syndication, there's no difference aside from $195.

For $5.00, I would want to know which site my press release was being published on. Obviously, it won't be the same high value site as with the $200 press release package.

As someone who buys a lot of Press Release I wanted to add that if you are indeed just starting out then please do not buy a press release for $200.00, instead purchase a press release from people on fiverr for $5.00.

I personally buy bulk and get a return on my investment from the traffic generated from the press release which I will then use that capital to try and find more profitable keywords from press release to profit from and build traffic streams to my money website.

I highly recommend gig champ on fiverr, I have tried almost every press release service on fiverr and this guy is the best! He will get you into google news which generates a ton of traffic.
