VPN you share a computer with other people in a location - or if you buy HMA - you can choose which location you want to appear from... multiple cities/multiple countries.

Private Proxies - you choose a location and your the only user of the IP until you stop paying for it - speed is usually faster

Public Proxies - normally slower - harder to locate - multiple users - die quickly

Windows VPS - buy a VPS in a location you want to appear to be from - log into it via RDP and run windows, surf web or whatever else you want to do ... the only thing is people can tell your from a center rather than residential - so for Poker stuff you need to be careful.... normally fastest but you can get input lag depending on Internet connection .. its only as fast as the slowest point.

I assume this answers your question or what you were wanting to ask.

Technically, a VPN is a proxy.

It is a bad idea to use public proxies, or free VPNs. Many websites have them blacklisted. In fact, even some popular paid VPNs like HMA are commonly banned.

OP, the above you mention have nothing to do with cloaking, though users do use VPS / proxies etc to create new PPC accounts, but, they are not part of the cloaking method itself; unless, you consider blocking traffic from such services as some sort of cloaking, then, some cloakers do blacklist traffic from such sources as those are most familiar with behaviors of bots, crawlers, etc

VPN's have less IP addresses... one VPN is one IP and there are less VPNs than proxies out there and they are also more expensive

Hi. Thanks a lot for all the replies. This reply was great and did answer my question thoroughly. I originally asked my question in relation to cloaking and sending paid traffic to the top websites and search engines like Google and FB.

I'd say I'm still somewhat a newbie so the terms "HMA" in relation to buying one and using a VPN and "RDP" when using Windows VPS are unknown to me but I'll look them up.

The Windows VPS was also something totally new to me so that's much appreciated plus the mention of Poker because it offers a glimmer of hope that playing this for $ still might be a possibility somehow on the net! My younger brother played a lot online and made LOTS of money (6 figures a year while he was in his early 20's) until the laws changed and he had to start playing live games instead until he finally got his MBA but I think he'd still be playing if he could...Thanks again, this forum is awesome.
