Yes, do some research on Content Creation (Article Writing) and Link Building. Those two alone are 90% of SEO and the two biggest factors in ranking a website. I hope that helps

Try to get the basic tutorials from the SEO sites like searchengineland, searchenginewatch and seomoz.. There you can guide yourself no need of other to teach you.

There's a ton of information on BHW. No need to overload yourself with the SEO blogs and etc yet. Just keep reading around and do what you learn. Honestly, the best way to actually learn SEO would be to do it yourself, mess up, then learn from those mistakes.
