What's motivating everyone these days?

Back-hand to the first chap that says money!

I honestly can't figure out what's fuelling my tank these days, giving up just isn't something I'm used to. I suppose education could be what's motivating me, what about you ballers?

Some more I can think of is fear of going backwards in life, working on a specific project that'd have you excited... Maybe proving a point to yourself or someone else?

Many entrepreneurs fail their project because they don't connect with it on a deeper level and only see money.

Business is hard, find what you want to give in this world.

Life is too short to focus on short term projects, create something that you love.

Because if you don't see doing this business in 5 years, it's already a fail.

Good luck

You may not see yourself in it in 5 years because of fear or some belief.

Sometimes you just know that the industry is going to change so that it won't be profitable for you to do what you are doing at the moment.

Life is dynamic.

I used to think that something would end after a year, and in fact it didn't after 10 years. Something that was difficult 5 years ago is a breeze today and I would come back to it with pleasure.
SEO is dead since 2010.

It makes sense, life is dynamic but it's good to fix not only short term goals and have a longer vision.

All people who suffered from shiny object syndrom (which is very common) have this because of a lack of long term strategy.

If you know that an industry will be unprofitable, I would not jump on it and would think of a longer more stable concept for a business.

But I guess there is no write or wrong, some people can bank jumping from thing to thing, but as digital business become harder and harder... I wouldn't.

SEO is dead :D :p

What motivates me is a fear of not progressing. I guess you could call it a natural desire to always be moving forward. Once I got my first taste of success in IM, I immediately wanted to graduate to the level above that. The fear of moving backwards or becoming complacent is enough for me to do everything in my power to keep moving up that ladder. I find the process of tweaking certain variables and trying new things to stay in a constant state of progression to be enjoyable, and motivating in itself.

I guess you could say it’s comparable to an addiction. For example, if you’ve never made $100 in IM, the second you do, you experience a dopamine rush greater than sex and a craving to do it all over again. After you’ve accomplished that goal a few times, a $100 client seems ordinary and now you want 5 of them. Eventually you want 10 clients all paying you $10,000 a month because you’ve surpassed everything below that, and the next milestone is a constantly-changing motivator.

in my case, its fear of staying the same way. another year passing and looking back, and everything is half-assed, it scares me. not the best motivation, but comes in a clutch when you cant find a more meaty one.
My motivation is something similar. I want to get rich and enjoy life with my loved ones supporting them in every possible way. I don't want things to stay how they are right now with living an average life.

Do you know any painter, programmer and writer all rolled into one? Because I don't.

And such a vision sounded interesting. I wanted to be all these people.

Unfortunately, I was terribly slow with everything, because I had to do everything at 30%.

It was a bit like ADHD and having three kids.

I thought it was motivating to have so many roles, but at one point I had no good income from any of them.

Maybe young people fall into such a trap that they want to do everything. I have heard of a few people who have studied all their lives and have got 5 degrees but have never used any of them in practice.

For someone like me who is interested in business, that was a nightmare to see low digits in my bank account. Great demotivation.

Yep I agree.

I am 29 now and realise that most of my 20's was trying to be good at everything, which is the opposite of what a professional is.

Being great at one thing is far better IMO, having a skill which can make you money is of course the best.

The other problem is wanting to be a "solopreneur" and have this fix mindset.

Your business never grows if you are alone and never outsource anything.

First two describe me to a T, I'm just trying to get an idea of everything around me and what can be done. I can 100% feel that being a solopreneur will lack progress... And for third line that's how I've been looking into solving my issues.

Love it.

Fear of losing again, past 2-3 yrs have been a full roller coaster for me dont want to experience that shit again.

I'm just pissed off and for 20 minutes I've been cursing the idiots I've met in the last 2 years. Early 20s rollercoaster. xD

I've heard that it can't get worse than a bad trip on drugs, but it can be!

You are pissed off every day and it spreads like cancer to various areas of life.

It's funny because when I was a newbie in IM I wanted to open a casino affiliate website and monetise it through paid ads... failed miserably...

Then I worked in a casino and did paid ads and Email marketing there...

We were a whole team working like crazy to attein the marketing objectives, I then understood how in the illusion I was as a newbie to try to compete in this industry alone. Wanting to be a solopreneur in this field was crazy.

You are a psychopath

To be honest, I've been really depressed since the end of 2020, and I continue to be from time to time. Nowadays I find it hard to stay motivated, but I've learned to stay disciplined. I've had lots of ups and downs, but I continued to work on my assets no matter how I was feeling that day. I know that motivation is great and all that, but it's persistence/discipline that really matters. Without discipline, you won't move forward in life. Motivation can come and go, but it's really important to stay disciplined even when you're experiencing your biggest loss, which in my case is depression. I get panic attacks from time to time because of too much stress from overthinking about my assets, but I've learned to stay disciplined through all of that. I'm far from being perfectly disciplined, but I'm working towards it.

Retirement... early retirement

Some things that are motivating for me personally are seeing some of the Journey threads on BHW - it's good to know there is money out there to be made. Another thing that's motivating is when I come up with a new idea for a website and I'm excited to implement it. I almost can't NOT work on it.

If I'm feeling less motivated then I just put to-do things for my sites on my calendar, and it gives me a reminder notification, so even if I'm not motivated I will still do it because otherwise I have to move the task but I don't want to do that because it might then clash with something else. So putting things on my calendar is motivating, but not as much as the other things I mentioned above. It's my backup motivation.

Definitely the Journey Discussions here on BHW keep me going!

You try to meditation every day 5- 10 minutes. Then you read some book, and travel from your outside home. Thanks.
