Hi there,

Used to use these forums over ten years ago when I was around 14/15 . Used to use automated blog commenting software mostly, and article submitters . People generally slated them but I found minor success with them , got some high rankings for low competition keywords .

Ten years later, I'm back because i wrote a book which I've published on Kindle , and have had an idea to promote it indirectly through getting a video ranked high on YouTube .

First thing I noticed was that a lot of stuff is floating around that was being discussed ten years ago , mostly in the way of social media bots, fake YouTube views , etc. Just got me wondering how much has actually changed , it honestly feels no different on here

WOw so you remember the forum after ten years ...

Tell me how you changed in this 10 years..

Spamming has gotten way harder and expensive. Less usable information in the forum overall (understandably). People are mostly friendly though :)

Spent six years in the military (nothing frontline) , and now I'm at university doing a medical degree with some great life experience in the bag :) I think it wasn't until my early 20s I really discovered my own identity and who I wanted to be.

I think actually its been a little over ten years since I was last active on here.

Advice for my younger self? Buy Bitcoin.

It may seem like not much is going on differently but the landscape in IM changes all the time so some of what you are seeing may appear to be the same but the processes are different in many cases.

On BHW we see and ebb and flow with a variety of things working today for the members and those not working tomorrow.

You missed a huge banking opportunity in Facebook a few years back yet it is still possible to make money but not the 9 and 10K a month per campaign.

You missed the transformation from Johnny Xfactor going from MNS sites to larger sites and then he moved on to something else entirely.

You missed the adjustments from automated backlinks being the bomb to rank sites to being just the bomb when it came to direct linking.

The crypto craze was wild a few years back, settled down and is not back front and center (BTC is not the only way to play that).

I could probably spend 10 more minutes going on and on and boring the members to tears but there has been a ton of changes, tons of stuff that worked great that is now secondary revenue streams and tons of opportunities that still work great with various adjustments.

Glad you are back!

Every minute something changes in the world, and you ask what has changed in 10 years, it's funny)))

Yes yes, It amaze me how much you can write despite having to deal with lot of stuff every day.
You are sometimes behaving as Freakin POLICE in BHW :D

I mostly do not write but rather use Dragon and speak my content.

There are a lot of staff members that do a ton here that most don't see so they deserve as much or more credit than I do for cleaning the floors around this joint.

Yup! i see and Since i have some inclination to join the bandwagon of being staff, I closely monitor and see how mods function here. Yes each and every staff here doing amazing stuff. Kudos to everyone!

I agree with you one hundred percent, the staff here is great!

Btw I wasn't bashing the forum in any way whatsoever, just thought this could make for a really interesting introduction. It's not every day someone walks back in the room after ten years ( offers an unusual perspective, not saying me and my 200 posts were missed or that anyone cared !)

Please keep the discussion going I'd love to see this thread develop into some form of BHW nostalgia

For me personally I feel like the big change as far as SEO is concerned is that quality had become
More important.

My tier 3 links now are what used to be pointing direct to my website 10 years ago.

Lots has changed on the forum as well, processes refined, people have come and gone, the place has perhaps become more inclusive, broader in scope as well.

People are treating IM more like any other business and investing serious time and effort into it, in order to make a return on investment.
