What's A GOOD Conversion Rate? Thoughts On My Results?

I mostly do web 2, blog commenting, and guest posts. I do use some services from bhw marketplace to build links to some sites but most of the time I will use ahrefs to find my competitors backlinks and if I can get a link I will get their backlinks. With web2 I don't just throw up a one page article I create mini sites or outsource them. These look more legit and gain more juice over time.
I also believe it has a lot to do with the content. The content I write is engaging and tells a story rather than just reviewing the product and writing boring info based content (Most sites I read these days look like an essay - you have to tell your story and get people hooked in reading your content.) To be honest, that's about it. Nothing fancy - I do think quality all round does help and that means quality content on your backlinks you create. Also, if you do create killer content you will get backlinks and shares naturally.

I'll do my best at answering.It varies but I do find that the most profitable ones for me are around the 20 - 70 range.
For two site I am collecting emails - I really should be doing this for all of them. The site I make the most sales with I DON'T collect emails. I did at the start but took email out and make more sales without it - BUT, in saying that I can't email them with different offers so I should be collecting emails for that site as well.
I wrote a lot of the content myself but I do outsource some of them. Most of the informational or supporting articles are written by someone I have on UpWork. I do give very specific instructions on how to write and go into details of what I want. I think it's important to give as much details to help them write the content you need. If you just give a keyword and say here I want an article on xyz. They will just write anything - This is where I tell them I want a conversational article that tells a story people can relate to.
I'm page 1 for the majority of the keywords I target. These are multiple pages ranking 1,2 or 3 for buyer intent keywords.
Normally it takes 2-3 months to start seeing sales - sometimes earlier if I push on social media. But from SEO - 2 to 3 months it will start ranking and then bring in daily sales which has paid for the backlinks I've bought many times over.
Once they're ranking I don't really do much unless I see competitors climbing or I start to drop. Some keywords I'm ranking for I haven't touched for a year and still ranking #1. It will drop to #2 but I find I make just as many sales when it's #2 because people aren't getting the answers from my competitors.
I'd rather not answer that one sorry.
Mostly buyer intent review type sites.

No PBN or Public BN links at all?
I ask this because it looks like this is common practice for review type site since no one want to link/share this type of article/site.
And i think this is why your conversion relatively high.
Do you make lots of review articles in same niche or multiple niche?
Because i saw so many website on page one doing this kind review on multiple niche, just review articles for every single cb products, no niche specific. And i'm sure it has relatively low conversion than yours.

I can remember seeing these kind of sites, one thing to note is if they are on page one, believe me they are making money even if it is a review site. The amount of links these guys throw at these sites must be through the roof, because they rank for so many keywords. @phoenix9 Try slapping one of those sites in similiarweb and see how much traffic they get. They are for sure making money. I would post one on here but dont wana ruin someones money lol.

I'm sure they make money because they rank for almost every single cb product name. But i'm also sure their conversion rate won't higher than @ThemeWave since those review really plain.

For one of the sites that makes a small portion of the earnings it has some pbn's from a service here in bhw marketplace.
But for the other sites I don't really like using pbn's to be honest - most people do them wrong and leave footprints and I've had a site penalised in the past so I'm fairly cautious with links.
Most of the articles are review or buyer intent type keywords. Stuff like where to buy, best xyz, comparison type articles and just content that people would be searching for before they want to buy stuff.
I keep each site very niche so the products I review will only be from that niche - I don't do multi niche sites. I find it a lot easier to have niche sites that are full of relevant content. Also, the way I structure my site and the pages I rank is like silo structure but I mainly use full width posts with no leaks to other pages unless they're relevant to that page/keyword.
I know a few of my competitors and I know one of them don't get any where near the conversions I get and that's because their content is really boring and written like a robot wrote it. I create content that is both engaging and tells a story of some sort that relates to pains my audience would have either experienced or know about. I like to try get my readers nodding their head agreeing while reading.
Are their products in Clickbank in your native language? That right there would be an advantage because you'll have less competition. But if you want to stick with English, use tools like grammarly to correct grammar mistakes and spelling mistakes. Try get someone to proof read for you if you can but to be honest, it's all about getting people hooked and wanting to read more. Another thing you can try do if it's in your budget is hire a writer - BUT, don't just say here's a keyword can you write an article about it. Give them instructions on exactly what you want. I give lots of instructions of what I want that way there's less room for error. AND, if I'm not happy with it I tell them to do it again or don't accept it.

Binge watch as much as you can on persuasive copywriting and direct response copywriting. Truth about marketing and copy chief are great podcasts if you like listening to podcasts.
But the greats like Gary Halbert (His sons now teach copywriting and have some good vids) , John Carlton, David Ogilvy and Dan Kennedy are a great place to start - watch their seminars on youtube, read any of their books and just take it all in like a sponge.
A good site to get swipe files is http://swiped.co/ (Not my site nor affiliated with it).
Try and write as if you're talking to someone you know. Don't use big fancy words - write like you're writing to a teenager. Everyone must be able to understand what you're saying and if you do use a big fancy word make sure you explain what it is so they don't go wondering off to search for it and lose track of your copy.
Something - it all has to flow. If you're doing a review on a product make sure it flows with the sales page of the product. Most people look for reviews to see what other people think and to make sure the product does what the sales page says it does. So try tick off everything mentioned on the sales page. You also have to address any objectives people will have. Re-assure people the product does what it says it does
I like to look for people talking about the product in forums for ideas. Not just on the product itself but for pain related topics that relate to the product. Read peoples stories in forums - this is a great way to learn the lingo of the niche and you'll find really good ideas for your story/content.
Site Structure:
I choose my niche and then find a few products in Clickbank that I can see will work well. I then do product reviews of these and then write some articles that are around the pain or struggles the product solves. I then link back to that review or any buyer intent page. What I mean by that is:
Product Review (Money keyword)
Best Products For XYZ (Money keyword)
Product Name Discount (Money Keyword)
Where To Buy Product Name (Money Keyword)
I then write articles which are called supporting articles that will then link to these pages to show Google they are important.
The supporting articles are things like tutorials, how to use the product, informational articles that help people learn more about or discover the products I'm promoting.
Each article is 1500 - 6000 words long. Normally, I look at the top 3 spots and do 20% or so more than they have. But I will also make sure my content is better, more engaging and super easy to read and digest.

I hope you don't mind me asking a couple more related questions...
Your articles are pretty long... How many do you usually have in one niche website?
As you said, you pick couple of related products on CB. Do you do them for comparison as in, choose one to promote, the other is only to compare?
And do you really create a niche site solely around 1 product, that might already be in demand? ( if I understand correctly, this looks like one massive giant sales website ? ) Or do you talk more about the niche problem slightly promoting the products? If it's the first, doesn't it feel forced?

I try and aim for 30 articles per site. Some sites are less other are more but there is no exact number - But I do try and get at least 20 articles up per site.
3-6 reviews, then 3-5 supporting articles and then your normal pages like about, contact, privacy and disclaimer.
No I do multiple reviews on different products within the one niche. The ones I do comparisons on I normally make one the winner or if I do like a top 5 I will make 2-3 really stand out.
Definitely work on writing your own content - you'll surprise yourself I think and if you rank your keywords you can always tweak them over time to make them better. All the power is in the editing as well.
When I write I will just write my article without stopping - I only edit after the draft is complete. When I'm editing I then add or remove stuff that needs it plus fix any mistakes. There is Grammarly and there's also paperrater.com which is handy.

I use ahrefs and put in the vendors site and the top 5-10 sites to see what other keywords they're ranking for. I also just brainstorm keywords that people would search for before they buy.
Certain pains or things people who need the product would search for. Google trends is also a good place to find keywords - I've found many of them that said they get 0 searches per month but they brought in hundreds of daily visitors because I guess they were trending.
I look at things like how optimized a site is for the keyword. So if their on page is terrible, and they're ranking with hardly any links I will go for it. If I see high authority sites I will sometimes avoid but if I know it will help my audience I still write content for it and then link to another page within my content to help build it up. That's if I know I have very little chance of ranking it - sometimes over time you can rank for big competitive keywords, especially if you're writing killer content people will share.
That also leads me to this: I also go to buzzsumo and see what is getting tonnes of shares. If I see something I can write about that is getting lots of shares I will also do that and in that content I link to say my review or money pages to help drive traffic and send juice.
Sometimes I don't even worry about looking at the competition - If it helps my reader I will write it. BUT, I spend most of my time promoting the money pages -the other article are mostly there to drive traffic and juice to my money pages.

I have a decent sized publishing business and i got into it doing something similar to you, promoting other peoples products, that way you know what sells. Clearly you are doing well so first ask the vendor for a bigger %.
Then the best way to scale is create your own version of the profitable products and redirect your traffic to your own version.

There has to be a big pain around the niche - well that's what has worked best for me. Then I look at the sales page and copy it has.
If it looks good and has proof it's selling (gravity) I will promote it - BUT, in saying that, I do try to stick with niches I enjoy.

That is a good idea and one vendor has already reached out and given me 90% instead of the 75% because I'm one of their top affiliates.
I have always wanted to create my own product but I don't know where to start to be honest and the support is what scares me a little. I will be definitely looking into creating something similar to what I'm already promoting. I have a good understanding of one of the niches and because I get a lot of comments and lurk in forums where my audience is I know what they want.

When you say that you write 1500-6000 per article and the fact that your sites are 20-30 pages... do come across the issue of not knowing what to write about ? Like, coming up with article ideas?
Also, do you do any manual promotion ? Like forum posting, blog comments, quora etc.? in other words, would you recommend doing so before page even ranks well on google? I remember meathead once posted a method with amazon aff websites and promoting solely this way without relying too much on SEO and some actually made bank with them. Does it work the same way with clickbank websites?

Ok so that's probs not the best example and it was rushed/off the top of my head but this is pretty much how my reviews look only I go into a lot more:
I have an headline (IMPORTANT - Must grab peoples attention)
I have a bit of a hook and intro.
I talk about the pain or struggle.
Then I go into the discovery - how I found the product.
What the product is and does.
What's in it for them - what does the product do and I then go into the outcome after using the product.
How it compares to other products in the market.
Proof the product does what it says it does - Include images if you can (HUGE IF YOU WANT HIGH CONVERSIONS)
Some frequently asked questions and answers.
Where to buy it...
Conclusion.
^ Some times I had other stuff in there but this basically my template for writing a review. Have some fun when you write - try and relax and just write as if you're having a conversation with a friend and recommending a product that helps them do X.
Ohh, also if you hate writing there are speech to text apps. Sometimes it's quicker to just type but it's good to break things up sometimes.
Do you recommending manual promotions?
Hell yeah - Join the conversation man. Don't spam - actually go to sites, read their blog post and add value to it. These are nofollow links but I still think they help and if their blog is popular and your comment is good, you'll get some traffic too. The way I do it is I play dumb and ask the author questions and then drop my link.
Something like:
WOW, I'm glad I found this article mate. I've been reading about this stuff all day and your write up helped me heaps! Hey, quick question if I may...I was reading this site here (url to your page you're promoting) and they said you can't do xyz because it wont work - do you agree? Thanks again and look forward to your reply or anyone else that can help.
Same goes for forums, community sites and even youtube videos. And this works with any site if you think outside the box a bit

Ok so that's probs not the best example and it was rushed/off the top of my head but this is pretty much how my reviews look only I go into a lot more:
I have an headline (IMPORTANT - Must grab peoples attention)
I have a bit of a hook and intro.
I talk about the pain or struggle.
Then I go into the discovery - how I found the product.
What the product is and does.
What's in it for them - what does the product do and I then go into the outcome after using the product.
How it compares to other products in the market.
Proof the product does what it says it does - Include images if you can (HUGE IF YOU WANT HIGH CONVERSIONS)

^ Some times I had other stuff in there but this basically my template for writing a review. Have some fun when you write - try and relax and just write as if you're having a conversation with a friend and recommending a product that helps them do X.
Ohh, also if you hate writing there are speech to text apps. Sometimes it's quicker to just type but it's good to break things up sometimes.

Hell yeah - Join the conversation man. Don't spam - actually go to sites, read their blog post and add value to it. These are nofollow links but I still think they help and if their blog is popular and your comment is good, you'll get some traffic too. The way I do it is I play dumb and ask the author questions and then drop my link.
Something like:
WOW, I'm glad I found this article mate. I've been reading about this stuff all day and your write up helped me heaps! Hey, quick question if I may...I was reading this site here (url to your page you're promoting) and they said you can't do xyz because it wont work - do you agree? Thanks again and look forward to your reply or anyone else that can help.
Same goes for forums, community sites and even youtube videos. And this works with any site if you think outside the box a bit
