My favorite uncle was recently diagnosed with a incurable form of cancer. With the right treatment, it could be contained and not spread like crazy but it will never be eliminated. Barring any additional surprises, he probably could live for a good couple of years whilst having regular treatment.
I found out yesterday that he had collected about 1000 domains over the years. Presently, there are about 850 domains, 150 or so expired this year as he has been going through a difficult time. Poor guy managed to renew only 6 domains this year, yet he had never lost a domain to expiration.
The domain portfolio is quite diverse. He did typo-squat a good number of major retailers for electronics, household products, automotive, credit card companies. There are some domains for advancing technologies like solar and trends like podcasting. A good number of two word combinations. There are a handful of pure gems in there too. Some of them are as ancient as a decade old. Plus one domain that completely blew me away. It is all in there.
I have no familiarity with domain parking but I would say they are poorly parked. They are now barely bringing in 100 dollars a month. Very few among them have any worthwhile content.
So my question is, what would you do to monetize these domains? I greatly appreciate any ideas both black&white hat but more white hat.
