Excellent point here. No need to get revenge. he is no longer a friend so now treat him as a normal customerand charge him to host the site and the domain. You are fully within your legal rights to do this. If he refuses then simply park the domain until he agrees to YOUR terms. Now you have gained face back and earning money also as result.
Forget about your ex and give them both your blessing. i have had this happen to me too and if you appear bitter and angry then that fuels their relationship and excites the both of them. If you say go ahead knock yourselves out then its no longer fun and exciting and they will quickly get sick of each other. Your jealousy is probably fueling the friendship....its all psychological!

2. He knows I am pissed and can create his own plan to ******** me
3. He is never gonna pay
4. Telling him to pay up is futile he wont.
What would be good is to say.... Look mate I gave you an income...none of it was you..you then called me pathetic... you then had a cosy catch up with my ex...if you can sleep at night you are a sick person...
Some ideas here have been really sly... and that is possibly best... if I just take the site down that will make him soooo pissed i might end up confronting him...beating his face to a pulp and then getting the sack when he grasses on me....

You mentioned somewhere you still have access to the site. This guy sounds like a tool when it comes to how SEO works, so just login and modify the robots.txt to:
User-agent: *
Disallow: /
Done.. he will assume that whatever you did doesn't work anymore. He will toss it, along with you, aside. (sorry, that's just how he will be)
When you find someone else to take over, simply remove the txt and regain your rankings.
I dunno why go all the trouble with an xrumer blast when u can just do this.

Seriously if the domain is in your name and you are hosting the site and he never paid you a dime then the site and domain are yours. Either stop pussy footing around and do something or stop whining about it.
You can do one of few things.
Change the site so that you can make some money from it by removing his info and adding some adsense, affiliate, or some type of cpa offer. Sell the site to someone and pocket the cash. If you do not want to do either one of those back everything up and then remove it from your server.
Either way grow a pair and do something. Do not ask for money. If he is making that much money from the site he will be begging you for a deal if his income from it is cut off. Ignore him until he comes up with a big enough offer in cash upfront.

put sex in invisible type 50 times in the pages.. with swearwords etc etc.
Make it a nightmare for google to crawl.
Make half the links break.
Lower all the kw density.
link to warez/porn sites etc etc......
get links from bad neighbour hoods.
Or just turn it off and tell him to ******** off. Which is what i would do.

When you reclaim the site for yourself, and start making all that extra cash, maybe with someone who deserves your love, then that will be your reward for not causing him to suffer.
