What would be the most profitable ebook I could write?

Including the tools in the package is not just to point them in the right direction. You can easily get someone to create the tool for you on many freelance sites. It wont cost you much but would bring more money to your pocket. The tools would make your ebook look unique. That is what I do and I really make money many times.

Scrapebox, that's a nice idea. A sort of ultimate guide to making money online - detailing the various methods which can work. This may be a good place to start.... However, when it comes to providing the tools you mention, that's not really my forte, unless you're talking about merely pointing them in the right direction...

If we knew the answer to the question posed in the topic, we'd be writing it ourselves.

not true at all. ideas nowadays don't cost almost nothing. just implenting these ideas takes too much time and knowledges.

magic formula:

Your expertise + demand + people willing to pay $ = money from them to you

1. you must personally add value to the equation from your life experience
2. there must be people you can help and who need your help to solve a problem
3. they must be willing to pay for the solution

Write an ebook on how to make a bad ass Facebook Fan Page using the new Iframe
system that just came out today. There is only 500 million peeps that might be interested in this book if you can amass the knowlege quickly, and write like you're
talking to a child. Oh yea, and lots of pictures. Give away the first couple of chapters
and make them pay for the rest. (BHW FREE)

Nickflame - thanks for your post and point taken. I will take you up on the point about there being a way better chance of making money having a regular book published, however. This is something I know about well. I have two books out with one of the best publishers in the world, I've won literary awards, I have a great agent. But none of this translates into revenue. Some of the best writers in the world live in abject poverty, or have a day job. Traditionally we would write journalism but that has all but dried up as the internet demolishes traditional media sources. Put simply, unless you're one of the lucky 1% who writes a highly commercial book which catches the zeitgeist, you won't make money.
In my case, my day job has bizarrely become SEO, and embracing the enemy, rather than fighting it by trying to retain a career in print media only. Hence my enquiry about ebooks and whether one can really make money with them....
I shall now, however, abandon my idea to write an ebook, and go back to monetizing websites, advising local businesses on their SEO, and dreaming of a world in which my one and only passion could afford me an income.... My third book is out soon - perhaps it will be a 1% er.
