What would be the most profitable ebook I could write?

Funny question I know. The thing is I'm a professional writer - by which I mean I have two published 'real' books which have left me poorer than a church mouse. Reading this forum I'm beginning to realise the huge potential marketplace for e-books. So the question is, what ebooks sell? Are they all 'How to seduce the hottest chicks' or 'How to the get No 1 on Google?' kind of things. Or is there some way I can really use my writing skills and. Would really appreciate some advice on this.

When you are writing a ebook or any book for that matter you have take off your im a pro writer cap off and write the ebook like your talking to a child so everyone can understand it, no big fancy words etc.

The second thing you need to do is find out what people want and give it to them, this is pretty easy. What do humans desire ? They want to fall in love, they want to look good, they want to lost weight, they want to get fit, they want to make lots of money, they want to have a big house and drive a nice car, they want to feel important, there is so many options out there pick 1.

Ok so thats the easy part you have your ebook all ready to go what now ?

You have to market your ebook which is the hardest part of all.

Search around the forums and find out what questions people are asking a lot. Then research the topic and write your book explaining how it's done. Of course that's just the simplest explanation of the idea but I'm sure you get what I mean.

Let me give you an easy solution OP.

Just analyse what are the people's most common fears / problems they are facing.

Money, health, relationship etc., etc., just see what else you could come up with and write books on them.

Do a JV with some people who have adult site where they can become an affiliate and watch the money come in

The really sad part is I think that'd actually be a winner. Thank god for weak and insecure people, they keep all of us in the money!

@OP - it doesn't really matter what you write about, but how you promote it. If you become a clickbank publisher and set a good commission you should do well.

Why buy an ebook written by whoever when you can go down to the bookstore and find a book by someone who actually knows what they're talking about for about the same price. Beats me...

They arent buying the book per se, they are buying familiarity. Remember your Avg guy like chris said earlier..

People are more apt to listen to Avg Joe's give a "review/sell something" who give the same information.

Rather than some overpriced Know it All who prolly, at least the way his book would lead u to believe, im imagining, didnt have w/e problem he was discussing anyway

And people who buy books like this are usually depressed.

Misery loves company....as the old saying goes..

Appeal to that palate and watch the $$$ come in..

Something I wanted to quickly add though is that in the Internet world, being a good writer is only a small part of the equation. I have seen a number of HORRIBLE writers (myself a few years back included, lol) generate fantastic figures with their e-books and an even larger number of FANTASTIC writers making as much as not one sale.

Marketing is what you need to be good at to make money with e-books. Luckily, you've got BHW

You can still make money with ebook. In my opinion, you would be able to make good money with a book that teaches people how to make money online. However, you should not stop there. The internet is full of those kind of books. Therefore, you should make it a package containing the book and then some tools that would help people apply those principles you mentioned in the book. That really sells well.

Scrapebox, that's a nice idea. A sort of ultimate guide to making money online - detailing the various methods which can work. This may be a good place to start.... However, when it comes to providing the tools you mention, that's not really my forte, unless you're talking about merely pointing them in the right direction...

Ebook idea have to be something which is very hot subject at the moment and also for many more years. It's so because not very easy to make a good ebook but you have to make a good one if you want to earn some good $ and after your hard work you also want to sell it for many years.

I think that poker body language would be very good idea ( poker is hot subject and poker body language easy one because it's small/interesting niche of that)
You don't need to have any specific knowledges about that stuff. Just read 2/3/4 books, make notes, watch some youtube videos, be a creative one when writing and then name yourself as an expert.
Don't be affraid to name yourself as an expert because if you read 7 ebooks on exactly the same topic then you know 99% more than all the other people about this....so you are an expert

If ebook is good one then it's easy to sell but 90% "marketers" don't know how to sell. If I would be making that kind of ebook then I would make 50% ebook and 50% videos. Let's say that this ebook is 20 pages and 5 videos. First 2 pages and 2 videos you HAVE to give away FREE ( emailing 1 page or 1 video per week ) and after these weeks you can ask to buy. Of course the free stuff have to be very good one.

P.S. Don't make just crap ebook, don't affraid to be name youself as an expert, don't wait the sales for first months, work hard and soon you will have very profitable and automated income.

In the ebooks market, writing the book is the skill that counts about 1% of the whole process- and that me being extremely generous.

The 99% percent of the ebooks market consists of internet marketing, jv, sales, etc..

You have absolutely no valuable skill in this market - the pro writer part i mean.

If you are a pro writer, you have WAY better chances of making money by getting accepted by a publisher, and let them deal with the marketing.

If you failed with that process, like you said, going and trying to publish ebooks is no different. It's actually way harder. Cause some percent of sales that in the past were due to the publisher will not exist in the self publishing market, so you will have to market every single sale yourself.
