What tools should I use?

Hello there!

I'm a newbie that never ranked a site before... ever. I've been reading threads on this forum about SEO the whole they and I got a better understanding of how everything works.

However, I'm not sure which tools I should use in order to get the most accurate results before I start building my website.

Can you name a few tools (preferably free) for these topics?

- Keyword analysis:
- Competition analysis (backlinks etc.):

There are so many out there that I don't know which to choose... For example, I analysed one website in the niche I'll probably choose. SEMrush showed that the website only has 19 backlinks while Majestic told me that the website has 1200 backlinks. I've seen that people here say both are good, but hey, there is such a big difference in the number of backlinks that I don't know if I should trust SEMrush or Majestic.

Google Adwords is best for keyword analysis... Ahref and SEM rush is best for competition analysis , but you need to get paid tool for both, then only you get perfect backlinks

The lists given above are more than enough, the only thing is, you need to be focusing more upon manual stuff for now together with freely available tools. Paid tools won't do magic for newbies.

I'll think about it. My past attempts at tutorial posts here went unnoticed. I kind of get the vibe that BHW WH SEO category is mainly a help/support forum. ... but I also don't like the answer I just gave so I'll reconsider too.
