I think you have too small of a sample size to constitute a "consensus" regardless of what the consensus is.
I also am not sure there is a "right" answer here. For example hunter is going to be more expensive but convenient and less time to market.
On the flip, long game, scrapebox is going to be less expensive and you can do the same thing that you do with hunter, but you have to think it thru and understand what hunter does and how to do that in scrapebox. So longer time to market but less long term cost.
Also it depends on what you need. Hunter is aimed at a more specific goal then general email gathering. But from what Ive seen from hunter its really basic on the whole and you can easily do what it does in mass using scrapebox.
So it really just depends on what you want to do and how much money vs time you want to spend on it, as well as measuring that against if you need a quick little project or a long term long game project.

You can use http proxies or SOCKS so long as they allow the port your using to verify emails. The ideal port is port 25. However most proxies block that port and other mailing ports.
No mail is sent from scrapebox when verifying emails, but you still have to access the port.
I don't use proxies. I just user the server Ip(s) and then there is a delay option to make sure you don't go too fast. Microsoft and Apple owned mail servers tend to block quickly. Think @hotmail @Mac etc... type mails So the delay is great for them. Gmail and others are more lenient, although if you have a nice mix of domains and gmails, hotmails etc.. its nice to randomize the emails so that there is a natural time between them as scrapebox verifies the list.
If its all just @whatever-domain.tld type mails then the delay is probably not necessary assuming you don't have a bucket load of mails from a given domain and its only a handful, again randomizing is nice in this case for a natural delay.

@ loopline really My friend, your software is a hero for me but I have an idea for verifying emails, you told that I can check email list with proxy list if the proxy open port 25 so how can check the port open or not for big proxies list, i harvested it, do you have this feature with the wonderful software scrapebox

as for scraped proxies like 99.99% and maybe 100% of them block port 25. I mean 20 years ago would have been different but today.
Ill pass it on, but I think its a non starter to be honest.

Scrapebox is really amazing software, but I'm not sure that I'd call scraping emails "lead generation".

Something else is that public scraped proxies die and fail regularly and randomly. So you would get all sorts of emails that said failed that were fine. so at that point your probably might as well just bomb them all and not even worry about verifying them.
