What to use 301 or Canonical Tag

301 redirection would be better to use and send traffic from the other URLs to your preferred URL. A server-side 301 redirect is the best way to ensure that users and search engines are directed to the correct page.
While canonical tags are used when you only want to index your preferred URL. That means to tell search engines to only index the https://yourdomain.com and keep the others available for people to see, but don’t include them in index. This will pass credits to preferred page.

+1 for this. Canonical tag is for something different. You can also set up forcing SSL on server side but this can be done only if you have dedicated server. Go with 301 and you will be fine.

Remember also to make 1:1 from every of this version to https:// version of inner pages.

The 301 HTTP status code has dependably been the standard for dealing with the entire and lasting redirection of a page. By executing this order you will be inevitably pass most of the first page's connection power, pertinence and positioning energy to the page

Internet searchers: I have different renditions of this page (or substance), please just list this form. I'll keep the others accessible for individuals to see, yet do exclude them in your record and please pass credit to my favored page.

On the off chance that the Web server does not give back an option URL with the 301 reaction, then either the Web server programming itself is blemished or the Webmaster has not set up the URL redirection accurately.
