What to target for seo ?

Hi guys would it be a good idea to rank my 150 article counting website with,:

- High Pr blogs
- Web 2.0 sites
- Article directories
- Doc/pdf sharing sites
- Press release sites.

I want to do this for keywords on the homepage and every post.
Any suggestions or ideas if it would be good to do ?

So you are starting link building for the first time to that particular website?
 
High PR links and blog posts are what will rank your site. Use that other stuff to build diversification, but understand it won't help you rank. Use lots of branded and naked URLs and never go above maybe 5% anchor text ratio for your money terms. And remember: blog network links create more than one link. They go on the homepage, they result in an inner page, and in most cases get put on a category, tag, author, and .com/page/2, resulting in up to 6 links. Lots of people don't realize this, and get 2-6 anchor links when they thought they were just getting one homepage link. Can KILL your anchor text ratios, so be careful.
 
The best advice I can give you is if this site is important to you, don't use spun content for your tier 1 links. If you avoid spun content, it greatly reduces the chance of a penalty. If a manual review is done and even just a hand full of links are surrounded by what looks like automated content, your site will be gone.
 
What you should actually target this year:

Exact match in Title Text
Rich Snippets... especially product info and reviews
Press Releases for link building
4+ matches in meta description
several hundred matches in HTML source... be competitive with other results on page one
rel=nofollow everything external
canonical tags
Target one search term per page and only have a max of 2 pages for each search term

Yes, but most PBNs won't do this for you...and it sounds like he doesn't own his own network.

I also disagree with Valid. Cutts himself said nofollow'ing your internal links is highly frowned upon. And Google likes pages that link to authority sites - if you nofollow them you lose that cred.

I knew that linking out to authority sites was good practice to make it look natural but I always nofollow outbound links. Why would you lose credit for nofollowing them?

how to effectively do this.

Yes Matthewwoodward make a series of 6 or 7 videos about the tier link building strategy and it's by far the best tutorial i've never seen.

I don't remember Cutts exact words, but it's obvious you're making them nofollow for the purpose of maintaing internal pagerank, which is pagerank manipulation, which they say they don't like. I don't think anyone's tested it in a case study type way though.
 
Yup mate, that's the great idea..Also keep an little thing in your mind, Make quality content which should be unique..
