I don't know what the deal is, but I cannot for the life of me edit pages when I'm logged into my Wordpress blogs. I can log in just fine, but I will seriously wait 10 minutes for a page to load after I hit "edit", and then it says done but everything has loaded except the field where I can edit my posts.

All my WP blog hosted with HostGator have this issue. You have no idea how much time I've burned up trying to work on my blogs. Its literally in the hours for this week alone. If everything was running the way it should be, I could've built 3 more site by now.

Is anyone else having this issue?

I just tested one on hostgator and it was fine for me.

Login to cpanel and see what the server load is. If it's high then that is most likely the problem.

You mean pages or posts? Cause I havn't been able to edit pages for ages now...

I just end up editing the page view the HTML view (Does work!).

I actually thought it was a certain Plugin that i was using. Do you have blogs off hostgator that have the same setup?

run ad-aware ...sounds like you have some malware crap that is stopping your keystrokes or try working in a different browser ..I can't do some things
in one of my browsers that I can do in another .. who knows

I have always had hostgator and wordpress sites... and they always run fine..

Seems like u have a malware issue... Try formatting ur pc!

Check how many plug-ins you got installed dude. Too many will lag the holy hell out of your site. 10-15 is a reasonable amount.

Hi,

Just logged in and checked a few of mine - all ok, no lagging or issues, latest version of WP etc.

They're not autoblogs and have about a dozen plugins - seo, adsense, privacy, ping, analytics etc

Si

I am not seeing any issues with my domains (autoblogs and standard sites).

My sites are only on a baby shared server, and it's performing well.

If you haven't tried it already: delete the blog and install it again (assuming you won't loose any real data). (Or just test install a new one).

And by all means go talk to the Host Gator support. They actually are rather helpful (well, usually at least). Plus, they know how to take a joke or two :)

Both actually - almost every part of my wordpress' interfaces don't load or load EXTREMELY slowly.

Say when I go to edit a post, everything on the page will eventually load except for the editing form- you know, where the text is, bold/italic buttons are, html, etc etc...

It seriously wastes so much time its absurd. Then I wonder why I get so unmotivated sometimes- I know that nothing will get done because of issues that are out of my control with my Wordpress blogs - i.e. I literally won't be able to create a blog or even add a damn post to an existing blog... :hitwithro

To all other posts (since you guys seem to have the same views on this) -

1. Its slow on my other computer as well, so I doubt malware is the issue (at least I pray its not because my computer is brand new).

2. I have less than 5 plugins activated.

3. My server load is very minimal for these blogs at the moment because they're fairly new.

Out of curiosity, what is your system load and memory usage according to your cpanel?

That is CPU Usage, right above the memory. Also, how many processes does it show?

I'm getting the same problem as you, I often have to refresh pages in the admin area to reload them and it still takes several minutes.
The 'add post' page takes for ever to load the HTML editor it's extremely frustrating. My blog doesn't even have any plugins.
Server stats
CPU Usage
0.1%

Memory Usage
0%

First thing you should do is to optimize your mysql databases...

next thing you should do is disable all your plugins on every site hosted there... see if that makes a difference. Turn them on only 1 blog and re-check etc.

Last thing is download your logs and go through them to see if anything is hanging up your sites...

If all else fails contact support. This doesn't happen on my Hostgator accounts but it does happen on my Bluehost account, i call them complain and the sites return to normal for a week or so and then they go back to lagging like crazy...

I have had this problem for weeks, calling customer service, opening tickets and shit like that. They had a load of excuses. hard drive broken and new is rebuilding, change of system, user abuse in the shared server, new admin, etc.

I was not even able to log in in wp-admin. i noticed because the adsense earnings fell to near $3 day in total and was wondering what the heck, I did a test on loading speed. Then I use a domain advisor that tells me the upload time and ALL reports shows downtime, and a upload speed of 3 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if they upload, meaning most of the times shows "connection timeout". I drop them, had no time for BS.

I'm on a shared account with WP, live zen cart, a tube site and 4 or 5 others. I have no lag issues at all. I think it's your server load. Did you check your inodes? If it's in the red you'll have bad lag. Have you cleaned up all your dirs? You have a few gigs of stuff just sitting there for no purpose?

I don't understand you guys getting the runaround from support. They've always been great, even with package-specific problems. I had an issue with one program and I'd posted in the app forum. When I opened a ticket HG support took the time to Google my issue and sent me a link to my own freaking post! Not helpful but still,t hey tried.

I believe cpu usage was 0% and I'm almost positive there were 2 processes running.

My own experience: HG is actually very good with their tech support. Got one site loaded with some malicious code and they helped me resolve the issue same day.
