Interested to see if there is anything, I myself use excel. As far as that goes, it's really easy, and it does not take much work to copy and paste a url into a spread sheet and take a few notes about the site. In my niche I currently have a list of top blogs that I comment on and read, and also a list of forums that I regularly post on with the username and password for each. It would be cool to have some sort of app that could help, but I am not sure if you would really be able to automate the process anymore.

I use an app called "my little pomodoro" for tracking the time spent performing each task. IE. for each 25 minute block of time I assign a different task and it tracks the time spent performing writing, link building etc. It's a cool way to look back at the end of the week and see exactly how I spent my time.

Saying software, I mean a phpscript also. :)

Using notepad or excel is good. I use them. But sometimes there are an app that can save us time or ease the team work.

I think the most efficient would be a webapp. Free or not. Self-hosted or SAAS.

If I want to track my own links/progress, excel or any kind of spreadsheet works wonders. If you want to track your progress as a team along with your other team mates, I guess, basecamp can help.

You can use any linkbuilding software that has a manual mode for submission. They will also store your campaign data.

Do you probably mean a semi automated tool which is half manual and half automated?

I used to write my links on notepad and if you wanna track 'em you can easily in addition to that, pasting them in to scrapebox for keeping how much of them are indexed or not, just delete ones who are already indexed ('cause you no more need to work on them) and build backlinks to your unindexed links to get them indexed quickly

What exactly are you asking for? and what is the purpose of what you're asking?...I don't think you'll find one single tool that will do everything for you, log it, check it, maintain it etc...excel/notepad are perfectly fine and then put the links through another program to check status etc... With all due respect, stop being lazy and constantly looking for work arounds. Sometimes, you just have to deal with it! and make use of the programs you have, also you'll never completely escape from doing manual things, like clicking a link, copying it, saving a file..this all comes with the territory!

Also, you may never find a program that displays the things you want in terms of layout. So, you take things into your own hands and modify the layout, this is why people here use notepad/excel because they can create the layout to suit their needs, sort of like an IDE for programming, think of it as the same thing. Find an editor, create a side panel, add some plugins to it that will help you, then at that point you have an entire environment that you have CONTROL over, this is fundamental to work efficiency.

You can apply the same concept to everything in life and it'll work perfectly fine! - for i.e You're inside of a house( text editor), the environment outside is hostile(market competition), you need the capacity to move around your house quickly to maintain your survival(identifying and developing strategy), so you create a hole in the wall, to move through rooms quickly( tabbed folders), the rooms are empty, you need to put a gun in each room to guarantee your security(creating content) then you need some more holes in the wall so you can fire your weapons(hosting provider)...it's all the same shit, man.

Are you looking for a software to maintain the reports of your manual linkbuilding other than excel/notepad?
    May i know why?
If you are doing manually means you have to copy the url in to the txt/excel file. Now the notepad++ and excel allow you to check the duplicate values. So, it's easy to add unique directories everytime. All the automated software's as well generate logs and reports only in txt and csv formats. So, i think there is no alternative other than Excel, notepad or similar.
