thank you, very enlightening. Hey if i didn't ask stupid questions i would never know the obvious answer. As a new Online Marketer I've had difficulties finding the right niche (or method) for me to use.

Been experimenting with everything, black hat is nice but i feel that white hat isn't a bad option at all.

is click bank a good direction to go in?

Your best option by a million miles and one that is absolutely guaranteed to lead you to making $100k/year(which is a really solid place to reach), is to treat this as a very long term plan. If you need fast money then don't do online marketing, if you are unhappy with life and think money will improve it, don't do online marketing, if you want to get rich fast, then don't do online marketing and so on.

First create a solid base for yourself. Get happy. Getting happy is easy. You want to know the secret? Wake up and realize you're alive RIGHT NOW and stop living in the future. Just notice what you have, that you're here now. If you're on blackhatworld there's probably a lot you could be appreciate of right now. Internet access, a warm home, decent food, your health, your site, your intelligence, the resources you have available, your enthusiasm. Just breath in the moment. All the negative emotions come from the stories we repeatedly tell ourselves in our head like "oh if only I could have this I would be happy and imagine all the amazing things I could do and all the things I could achieve if I just had money".

All you do is relax those stories and notice the present, breath, relax and appreciate what you have. Try saying this to yourself, it's like magic.. "I really really want to be someone who's sitting on blackhatworld right now trying to make money." Try to 'want' everything you have RIGHT NOW. If you have a cup of coffee on your desk, want coffee, if it's in a blue mug, want coffee in a blue mug and want it really really badly.

You'll notice you feel lighter, more energetic and happier. These are the absolutely essential prerequisites for success and lack of them is the reason most fail. Just keep it simple and remember all negative energies come from the stories we tell ourselves. Our natural state is high energy. We will ourselves into depressions. :)

Once you've done that set up your life in such a way that all your basic living expenses are covered. If need be downgrade. Aim to get $50-$100/mo cash from your full time/part time job every month to use for your online ventures.

From here pick 1 thing that you enjoy and stick with it for 6 months until you've mastered it. It takes months to master something. If you spend a week or a month and then switch to another area before profiting you'll end up doing this for the next 10 years never making more than a few dollars.

*every* direction is a good direction to go in. Everything makes money. Once you pick something you have to stick and that's what almost no one does.

Pick something you enjoy and in your head decide you're going to work at it for a year to learn it without making money. Don't set the goal of making money. Set the goal of learning the industry inside out and becoming a master in your chosen area. It's a subtle psychologically distinction, but it's a very very important one. Everything is the "stories" we tell ourselves. If you believe you're trying to make money, by month 2 if you've not made anything you'll feel sick. If you believe you're trying to master the area then you'll feel like you've moved from point A to point D in those 2 months regardless of money.

Almost everyone fails at online marketing because of high expectations, laziness and strong wants/desires. Get happy first, enjoy life. Take up some extra hobbies. Be happy with what you have now no matter what it is you have then start your long term plan and enjoy every day of both the plan and your current life. People who are unhappy with what they have and 'want' things rarely get them. The reason most very successful business people appear to be more interested in business than money is because they were never desperate in the first place and started off energetic/happy doing what they love.

Just save the $20 until you know what you are doing.

Set your site up, decide on what keywords you want to target assuming you want traffic from Google, and then spend your $20 on some backlinks, or save up a bit more and then invest, that's my advice.

Unfortunately there's not much you can do with $20!

* Find somebody who's successful at what they do and buy them a cheap dinner.
* Pay a homeless guy to hold your sign.
* Buy the gig on fiver where a dude juggles chainsaws while saying your url.

You won't get anything accomplished with $20 so just sit on it and wait.
