    I have cloaked affiliate links with a wordpress plugin called -- affiliate-link-cloaking.1.3.2. When I link the "download" word on WordPress, I also check the option "open link in a new tab" in WordPress editor.

    When I do this in real time, it tries to open a new tab but then it closes it again (in a fraction of a second) leaving again at the page where I was. I use Clickbank products.

    But if you right click and choose "open link in a new tab" it works. But I don't want to right click -- just clicking the link should open the affiliate page in a separate tab.

    Any suggestions or what free link cloaking method/plugin do you use? I'm a newbie when comes to programming.

    Thanks in advance friends.

    Are out for CPC-based platform Cloaking? I mean, do you need driving traffic to your clickbank products using cloaking of CPC networks, or...just want to cloak the clickbank url from Google crawlers or other search engines?

    I want when you HOVER on "Download" link on the website, it should not show at the status bar the irregular affiliate clickbank url, but just to look like a subdomain of the site

    What browser are you using ?
    You need to add target="_blank"

    Code:
    <p>
    Visit <a href="http://www.yoursite.com" target="_blank">Yoursite</a>Now!
    </p>

    I found this on the internet it might be useful to you:
    "The addition of the TARGET attribute to a hyperlink lets you dictate where the linked page opens. To open a new page I have used target="_blank" but there are others...
    target="_blank" Opens the linked page in a new window.
    target="_self" Opens the linked page in the same window. This is the default for ordinary pages and doesn't need to be specified. It has a use when working with frames.
    target="_parent" Opens the linked page in the parent frame in a frames page.
    target="_top" Opens the linked page in a full (i.e. top level) window when used in frames pages. This one is useful for letting a linked page 'break out' of a frame."

    OR TRY THIS

    I used to use the above plugin. It works OK.

    Thanks. I tried the plugin you suggested, but it doesn't solve the problem. When you choose the option when linking at WordPress editor as "open link in a new tab", it doesn't open any link at any tab at all.

    Check your browser settings, as you may have set your browser NOT to open links in new windows/tabs etc.

    Search for "open link in new tab" or "open link in new window" followed by the name of your browser.

    I'm using the latest version of Firefox. When I tried with Google Chrome, it was correct. Apparently it's a browser's problem.

    a) Why is this problem with Firefox and how can it get fixed?

    b) When the squeeze page of the site I'm referring opens, at the web address at the top, after the website name it shows the word "hop" and the name of my Clickbank username. How can I make that only the website name is shown -- without the words "hop" and nickname?

    I never used that software when cloaking. You should try a simple redirect script.

    I agree, I would just forward the button to whatever page within your domain and add the redirect script from there, so no matter what the do to that button in whatever browser it would still go to your domain /action.php ( I cant post links yet) then in action.php do whatever you got to do
