Hello Guys,
For different niches or categories of websites, we get confused, what should be the length of an article so it can rank sometimes on Google #1 Page.
From my past experience, i have learnt, it doesn't matter how good UI Design you built and what best level SEO you are doing, until your content having quality with some quantity as well.
Even another truth is, Content alone also can't rank well.
Everything is connected to each other from on-page SEO to Content to Link Building.
What i use to rank website, is to review your competitor's content length + style of writing those already ranking.
For E.g: For a dog breeds website, most of our competitor were about 1500-2000 words in content length & they were using a table of content with some properties in 2-col design.
So we implemented a similar content style with required content length and fortunately we got the results.
Another important point here is: Quality content get you rank for 3-5 page, but afterwards your link building matters and pushes your position to 1-2 pages, which actually takes time to rank.
I would recommend if your competitor is 2000-words then you target to make at least 3000-3500 words long content, as your competitor is aged one and your site is a newcomer.
Hope this short post help you to improve your content writing strategy for long term.
Let me know in case of any question.
Cheers
