Hello Guys,

For different niches or categories of websites, we get confused, what should be the length of an article so it can rank sometimes on Google #1 Page.

From my past experience, i have learnt, it doesn't matter how good UI Design you built and what best level SEO you are doing, until your content having quality with some quantity as well.

Even another truth is, Content alone also can't rank well.

Everything is connected to each other from on-page SEO to Content to Link Building.

What i use to rank website, is to review your competitor's content length + style of writing those already ranking.

For E.g: For a dog breeds website, most of our competitor were about 1500-2000 words in content length & they were using a table of content with some properties in 2-col design.

So we implemented a similar content style with required content length and fortunately we got the results.

Another important point here is: Quality content get you rank for 3-5 page, but afterwards your link building matters and pushes your position to 1-2 pages, which actually takes time to rank.

I would recommend if your competitor is 2000-words then you target to make at least 3000-3500 words long content, as your competitor is aged one and your site is a newcomer.

Hope this short post help you to improve your content writing strategy for long term.

Let me know in case of any question.

Cheers:)

What do you think about Incearing DA/PA? mostly from profile backlinks and etc, it will affect our ranking?

Thats like my wife: thats a long piece of "content" you have there :D

Thingy is: Multiple Members here rank with 400 words. Sure it depends on niche...

It's very disturbing to see how the article length in guides rises each year, the last guides talking about pillar content of 4000+ words, while I notice more and more 300-word articles ranking a lot of niches above pillar posts.

Its not about length but quality.
Yes absolutely.

High Quality Profile backlinks surely helps to increase domain authority.

Yes in 2021, I tried pillar content strategy on multiple websites but I was wondering, internal single topic-based articles were performing much better than pillar content.

I think its about what is the quality of content...for my site i wrote 500 words or 800 words and still its ranking one in the google..

As said above, fulfilling the searcher's intent with your content is key.

You'd want to ask yourself if you're putting these keywords in, are you getting the answers you're looking for with your content.

Take that information, combined with the rough standard word count of 500 words - 2000 words, and find your sweet spot.

Just concentrate on quality, plagiarism free with grammar error free content instead of length.

It's probably the best to start from yourself.
Would you read this if you found it somewhere? Does it holds your attention as a reader?
Plus ask few friends for an honest review.
Eventually you will 100% learn what works best and it will be "automatic" for you to write like that.
