Hi guys,

I want to record some videos of some software I'm making while taking about the software.

What screen recording software would you recommend?

Ideally free, but I don't mind spending a few quid if it's good.

I used to use cam studio but I kept having to break the videos up because of the sizes.

Thanks!

I have always used bsr screen recorder over the years. Not sure if it works with the mic input but I find no reason for it to not..

The thing I like about this software is the default video size. If you have no need to edit anything, the file size is extremely small while maintaining the frames.. Ofcourse you can set it higher..

Screenpresso is cheap for the pro version.

The free version is good as well

Please do :) and oh btw.. if you just wanna try it first.. the torrent is available for you lol. I have the purchased edition as I love this software personally.

Pretty sure the newer versions of Windows have a screen recorder built in. As for a mic, get a USB condenser mic for crisp audio.

Windows 10 does have the xbox gaming recording feature. Simply press Windows + G while in any window, check "this is a game" and you can record with it :)

I am sure somebody already shared it over here. @jazzc may be? Should be available for the download already..

I found "screencast-o-matic" so reliable to use..and its free

That is a decent product and the paid version is pretty cheap as well.

I don't remember what you get with the paid version as opposed to the free one as I have been using the paid one for ages on my PC.

If you are using a Mac, Quicktime is much better than I would have thought and use that as well.

As to a Mike, it looks like @Neon nailed it.
