This is directed at the SEO's on this forum, or for anyone who may be interested in SEO.

If you had the option to ask some of the most knowledgable or most experienced SEO's any question you wanted - what would you ask? It can be about anything - backlinks, black hat / white hat, future updates, penalties, negative SEO, spam, SEO in the future, etc.

Let me know what you'd ask.. I plan to close this thread in a few days but I just wanted to see what sort of response I'd get.

Example Question: Where do you see SEO in 10 years time? And what changes do you expect?

What's working for you post the latest Panda/Payday Loans updates? I've noticed a lot of popular parasites have been devalued, and fresh domains seem much harder to rank.

Just to be clear - this isn't a Q/A with me (if that's what some people think). It's just a thread with different questions you would ask the top SEO's if you had the chance..

Sorry i had to ask: the point of this thread is to have enough material so that someone can write an 'ultimate SEO guide" or "the most SEO asked questions" ?

Couldn't stop it ...

I'm not going to be making any "ultimate SEO guides" or anything. I just wanted to find out what people would ask if they had the chance. Maybe we can see a trend with the questions - or maybe there'll be a few interesting questions which I haven't yet thought of.
 
Will backlinks be devalued after some time?
If they will, what will replace them?
 
What is the best way to keep your sites from getting a penalty in future updates to come? Thats what Im still trying to figure out!
 
I have a couple of questions that I would like to see answered by those in the know;

1 - With all the of the recent changes it seems Google is favoring operators over affiliates. With that in mind how much of IM do you expect to be paid search in the next 10+ years? What room for growth is there for natural SEO?

2 - What processes do you follow when building your back links? Is there a procedure you follow with every site you produce or is each site unique in its build?
 
Will Google get to a point where the scales aren't so far tipped towards authority and bring it back to an even match between authority and relevance? So many queries are messed up because websites like Amazon dominate a search, even though the page has little to no content.

If Google ever manages to identify PBNs from regular sites I would be very interested to understand their algorithm. Currently the only way they could identify anything is with just lazy mistakes, such as same IPs or no content etc. I do have a few ideas of what they could do but I'm obviously not going to say anything on a public forum haha!

Are SEO professionals concerned about all the clueless amateurs entering the industry on a daily basis?
Is the time now right for some form of recognised industry qualification administered by a professional body representing SEO'ers?
Are they concerned about the rise of negative SEO?
Are any of them opening agencies in China or partnering with Chinese firms to get a slice of that market? + Do they see Foreign Language Search Engines becoming more important and relevant?
Apart from Google going full retard, what is the most significant risk to their business?

Kidding aside...

With all the newly added niche-targeted ads for Google's search engine results (above the fold, sidebar, pictures, specific dates, etc) which push down the organic results, how fast do you think the value of SEO for organic searches drops?

(And since SEO costs go up with the need for unique content, getting your own lists, tools or having your own PBN and a bunch of other essential stuff)
