What other SEO method can I apply without spending a penny

Okay, so I put up a 4k+ words article on my 4-5 months old niche site. I thought of slowly starting the SEO and up till now, I have left some comments on relevant blogs, around 40-50 ones.

The OBL was low, the content was unique and sites' quality were good. However, I don't think blog comments alone are enough to rank a site (or am I wrong) as they are no-follow and aren't really authority-packed.

I plan on building some quality web 2.0s, with 2k word content on each property, maybe 10 of them and wait for my blog to show up on SERPS.

Now to the question:

What are some other free SEO tactics that I can leverage. I'm planning on doing manual outreach and what else? Your answers are highly appreciated.

Your best chance here are guest posts. Any other free links might help you with diversity, but unless your keywords are super low competition, don't expect any movement, let alone top 3 from them. Doing SEO without a budget is very very hard.
 
Exchange article / post with mates, high authority comment backlinks, niche /keyword related nofollow comment backlinks,
Social media sharing, pinterest percent sharing, try 3 tiers on all varities
 
Make sure you are researching the keywords as best as you can. Are you making sure that your texts are SEO compatible? That might be causing some problems - titles, subtitles etc.
 
first of all make 200% sure ur niche is right for you, no too big boys, etc

then you can make webs 2.0 with manual content. one blog per platform.

they will age and gain on power especially if you boost them with links.

you probably cant afford automation tools but i believe you can boost these webs with expired webs (it doesnt cost anything)

Hey mate, thank you for your response. Here's a question I have: how to land guest posts if I'm working on a niche site? Even more importantly, without a budget. Do I simply mail them and ask for guest posting opportunities? I'm not so experienced in this field and your personal experience with guest posting would be a great help.

Yep, that's pretty much it in the nutshell. There are a few guides on BHW if I remember right.

Go to google and type:

site:blackhatworld.com guest post how to

or something similar and you should find some nice materials.
 
If you want to personally work on it with at least no cost, Guest post to relevant sites is the best. It will just consume some time and effort though but its worth it. You can also work on forum backlinks.
