Just wondering what motivates people here to be involved in Internet Marketing? I know a lot of people might say its the money but for me its not so much about that - I do want to make money from my online ventures but when I sat down and though about it I realized that out of all the things I do, building and (trying) to rank websites is probably the thing I enjoy most and its the one thing that I probably don't measure by how much money it actually brings in.....

I know there must be a mixture here in terms of how much success people have seen from IM so interested to know what motivates you.....

Competition is what motivates me. It is like a video game and everybody is trying to get the hi-score.

One of the things I enjoy the most is the diversity of the industry itself you can be involved in 10s of projects simultaneously raging from fashion to software which is something you cant really do with a regular business. The others of course are the flexible hours, being my own boss and the money.

Reaching milestones is my motivation. I set targets on how much I need to earn daily.
Started with 10$/day then 100$, 1000$ and even 5000$. It's not stable ofcourse but it's a number I need to reach.
Right now 10k in a day is my goal.
This keeps me motivated alot, also a good tip:
If you want to buy something, earn 10x or 6x the price in a day(profit) and only then you are allowed to buy it.

the ability and feeling to work from anywhere you want, not just a boring static workplace. basically "freedom" is the keyword here xD

I think we all are doing it for the money but honestly the idea of working when I want to work is the best part.

I cant imagine waking up everyday and going to work for someone else so they get rich.

Its also nothing better in the world then seeing them green arrows :)

Even on my deathbed I will never call myself an IMer ever. The word just translates to lame spam loser begger asking for handouts on bhw.

Reaping the fruits of my efforts. I love being able to set goals and accomplish them. Seeing results is what keeps me motivated.

A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.

I do it because I can. Some people choose to work for others. I choose to work for myself.

The alternative is another nervous breakdown after 5+ years in a dead-end job working 40 hours a week making $1200 a month. No thank you.

As a bonus, it is so great to rake in more money than my family members who are college-educated and working in cubicles making 5 figures a year. :D

I think for most people the pillar is money, and all the rest that comes with it...
