honestly 6 months isnt that long, link building is slow and most of the gain shows up later than you expect so dont panic yet.
everyone here saying guest posts which yeah fine they work, but i'd add that what moved the needle for me wasnt the type of link as much as not over optimizing the anchors. early on i was hammering exact match anchors and it did nothing or made things worse. switched to mostly branded and naked url anchors with maybe 1 in 8 being keyword and rankings got way more stable.
also stop obsessing over DA. its a third party metric, google doesnt see it. a DA20 page that actually ranks and gets traffic is worth more than some DA60 link farm that hasnt been crawled in months. check if the page is actually indexed before you even bother.
one thing nobody mentioned... look at where your competitors are getting links from. their backlink profile is basically a free roadmap of sites in your niche that already give out links. way faster than cold guessing.
idk what niche youre in but if its competitive the real answer is just patience plus not doing anything dumb. slow and boring usually wins this game.
