Hello friends,

I am curious about what keeps you guys motivated when working. What are the internal drives. I feel motivated when I have a purpose, a goal, and I keep myself motivated by thinking what is the reason why I started to do a specific task. When I lack in motivation I stop for a minute and I ask myself: "Is this the life you want? Are you sure that you want to quit this just because you suddenly felt that this is not worth it? Do you think that you are going to feel better if you quit that if you were going to finish this?". Every time I ask myself this I start to work even harder, even more intense.

I don't have a certain talent. My only true, and the most valuable asset, is my perseverence. And with this, I can "steal" a lot of other great talents.

Tell me what works for you. :D

A goal, a dream, or however that other people call :).
Just something that i have in my head and i am tring to achieve it, everyday i woke up with a mission to be one step closer to making my dreams comes true and every night i fall asleep thinking about my goal.
Once my dream really comes true, i will probably have a new dream, or i will just enjoy new lifestyle and keep doing what i was doing recently.

The best motivation for me to work hard is waking up every morning, having a cup of coffee and listening to my dad as he walks into the kitchen and says, "the new (enter business here) is hiring, why don't you go over there and apply."

"Jeeze dad, I'm a partner now on YouTube. I'll get a million subscribers soon and won't ever have to worry about finding a job again. Need anything at the market?"

Help my parents and myself live an worthy life. Simple things are often the best ones.

I really don't need motivation. There's something in my head that makes me work hard to improve mi projects or whatever I am working at, and also my knowledge to be better.

Yeah. What motivates me is the desire to maintain and improve my current lifestyle. If I stop working, my lifestyle will start going downhill as I'm able to afford less and less and am forced to budget more.

I also have some very specific goals that I am working towards, and I find that usually helps keep me going.

For me, it's the hacker mentality.. It's exciting to use something for a purpose it wasn't intended for. I also really enjoy certain types of programming. I guess money is a factor, but it's all about the thrill and challenge.

Its hard times at my house right now.. cash flow is low for my parents. & Ironically i'm making more money on IM then i have in the past 5 months. Makes me want to work harder.
