What It's like living in Pakistan? [Answer]

As an outsider, CPEC for me is a form of indirect colonization of Pakistan by the Chinese government.

They are lending so much money to the Pakistan govt that they cannot reasonably be expected to payback under the current terms of CPEC.

This will inevitably increase the control China already has over Pakistan.
I think same, that's why like to know the view of someone from Pakistan.

How big is your apartment? If you move to a major city in germany and don't want to live in a shitty 1 room 12 square meter apartment your thousand dollars will be gone. Living "good" with 1.000$ can get really hard.

- you dont need "shit car" to get to eveywhere...

I rather spend 800€ and got eveything when I walk outside.. than paying "400 buck" and need a car to get everyhwere.. oh. and dont come with that "I own a 15 yo BMW..."..

I'm afraid of pakistani hackers.

That's a first one

I don't live in an apartment. I own a home 2160sq fts, decent neighborhood.

as you are a well-educated person, what are your views on CPEC?

I know many Pakistanis going crazy over this on the internet like it's going to make Pakistan superpower:p:p:p without even knowing the full form of it.

as an Indian, i hope Pakistan will develop so some guys don't do jihad for talibanis.

Mixed feelings. It's bringing a lot of opportunities and we're seeing a lot of positive impact of it I personally do feel invaded sometimes :P But All in all, it's a good thing

How are the gun laws in Pakistan?

It is super tough here to get a gun here. Only a handful of people get a license to own a firearm.

Unless you have in insider friend, Gun laws are pretty strict but to be honest, acquiring fire arm isn't the hardest thing to do

Cheers for the info. I would love to visit Lahore one day!

Lahore is on the move these days. IT friendly and safer, better internet and overall good food.

Any bar at here? can I drink?

Can't eat meat at all ?

There are breweries here where alcohol is sold legally and openly. I've heard about bars but since I'm not an outdoors guy, so can't say for sure .

The message you quoted, I don't remember writing that.

1. We're allowed to speak, interact, talk, eat. Normal to be honest.
2. If you're confident enough, people do that all the time here.
3. Family? Perhaps, depends. May get ground, Law? Lol no. Like I said, these are misconceptions

Hi,

I understand most of you guys don't give a shit but for those who do. I just thought to make this quick thread here (in Lounge). I know I'm gonna get a little trolled but that's alright. Haha. So here goes

Some misconception.

1. No, it's not all mountains, dust and camels.
2. Yes we do have Internet
3. No, everyone doesn't go blowing themselves up when they're upset
4. No one speaks English here.
5. People have a strict dress code for Male and full cover for females

What's the advantage living in Pakistan?

1. It's my home country
2. It's cheap to live ( I live in Metropolitan area, biggest City of Pakistan)
3. Internet is decent (sucks atleast one day each month)
4. If you register IT company, you're exempted from most of the taxes
5. Cheap to hire full time staff, get an office. No outsource needed. We're the outsourced. lol

Average cost of living

In a decent area,

- You can get a apartment of 1 bed, for $100 - $150
- Food is cheap. You can get by with even $1 per day (if you absolutely had to) but avg per person is $3 - $5
- Internet. Not that cheap. We got 10mbps dedicated for around $25 p/m
- A single person can have a PRETTY good standard of living under $1k.

Why I post this ?

Don't know. Had a little free time.

Cheers
Youforget (because u used to it ) the part where women are pretty much forced to go out with a guy who asks her out.

Too bad men and women can't be bf gf

I really really really don't want to start this buddy, but by this definition, you can eat beef or you'll get lynched the fuck out of you (no offense to you). By that definition, Every Women gets raped in India? These are are shallow things to say and be said upon. Look broader.

I've said above that these thing unfortunately happens sometimes here, but it's not people cheer to it or approve of it. It's a work in progress.

Where are you getting your info from?

What is the general opinion there on Europe? Do they like/dislike Europe?

These day, people here like Europe and Australia more as compared to US. As there are more "jobs" there, relatively easier to immigrate, and just because it's not US. (Although A LOT of people here immigrate to USA. A LOT but general image of US is pretty bad here, due to the whole Drone attacks, and other stuff)
