How exactly new? You joined the forums a year ago and were posting then...

Reddit has some good free traffic. Depends on your niche and your funnel.

Jack Ma is high as fuck ,pretend to be an IM newbie and shit.

Posting early comments on videos on YouTube that get hundreds of thousands of views. Instead of spam I make an insightful or controversial comment. I combine this with an intriguing profile picture and username. This hooks a few huyndred to a few thousand people's attention onto my page's profile where I have my videos and links. Since, my accounts have valuable content and people believe they spontaneously have discovered my content, they keep coming back. Do this multiple times across many accounts, while taking measures to seem as human and unconnected as possible. Technically, this is 100% legit, it is just grabbing the odds by the horns. (since, the algorithm has no real influence on where and how one can comment, you just comment in the optimal way)

I do similar things on forums except I do post links of my site, but I mix them with other authority sites. While they may get "free traffic" too, it positions my site as an equal in the minds of my niche audience. Due to this method, people have began posting my sites as definitive answers on their own on some very popular boards. Again make sure to have unique IPs, Mac addresses, browsers, writing tone, etc.

TLDR: Add genuine value, people love it like candy. Being somewhat intriguing hooks even more people's attention. It is a combination of the mindsets from a few books and posts I have read while combining it with real life feedback. It isn't free, but there is no monetary cost(no ads or links). Nor does it work 100% of the time. It is more like a supplement. That is why I have to take massive action because it puts the law of averages on my side. (this doesn't just work off the bat, it takes practice...)

Besides Facebook and Forum, I prefer Reddit, LinkedIn, Google+ and Pinterest

Find a cheerleader of a football match. Give her 100$ to print a tatoo of your sports site on his waist. And show it to 100k people in the match.

Pinterest is one way to do it if you are careful enough not to get banned by them.
