What is your biggest problem with building your email list?

Not sure if this is the right forum to drop this question but thought it might be the closest as there is no forum dedicated to email marketing.
So here is the question:

What is your biggest problem with building your email list?

Only problem is time taken and you should link your subscription form with email verification to avoid invalids.

Absolutely! Avoid those invalid e-mails by email verification if you can.

Other than that, I'm just importing my customers to the e-mail list, and unsubscribe ratio is very low. Once you get them on your e-mail list, it's a guaranteed $$.

Well that depends on how they subscribed to your list in the first place

Invalid emails or cost of building a list, which ranks the most?

The problems that I have observed are -

- It takes time to build email list. You need a plenty of traffic to your blog or website so that your subscriber rate will increase fast.

- If you do not send emails to them regularly they tend to forget that they have subscribed to your list. Next time when you sent mail to them they unsubscribe of even revert back claiming they never subscribed and I should stop sending mails to them.

- You need to have email verification in place to avoid fake subscribers. Only serious subscribers will clink the activate link in their inbox and only they are your real subscribers.

Biggest issue I had before was email going to spam

There are free scraping tool,email sending tool,but no email verification tool which can be used unlimited for free.

Building a list is different than buying or scrapping a list.

Building a list requires a good budget if you're using paid ads, and requires also some money and time if you're using free organic social media traffic.

To avoid the invalids subs, make them double opt-in.

Double optin is important but it seems to be an old school method and turns off new subscribers

Old school but effective, you can use an api to validate leads in real time.

And it depends on your strategy, If you're giving away a free video or ebook...you can say in your lead magnet that you will deliver the ebook/video by email to maximize your chance of getting valid emails.

BTW what's your biggest problem when it comes to building a list or email marketing in general?

I on IM since 2009 and only one time i tryed to create a email list, but was a complete disaster for me and did not worked

the website banned my account, i think i try to send too much emails, but idk

Time..take too long to build decent list.

I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO FUCKING USE ONE!!!

This is not a reason to give up but an excuse. You did something wrong so learm from mistake. You can change the 'website'.

Its true. Once i tried emailing my clients (people registered on my website and customers i had in the past on my websites)

My hosting suspended me

3 sites that allow you to email for free either suspended me immediately or after i sent a few emails

So i gave up on it.

Its unfortunate, because the few emails i managed to send actually got me some sales.

But i dont know how to go about it, and if i ask here on the forum ill get no help about this. No one wants to help with email.

I would like for my website to send an email to people when i reply to their tickers for example, but i dont want my host to suspend me or my domain to be marked as spam or something by the various email platforms.

Its unfortunate really, bcuz email is powerful, but i never managed to figure out how to use it consistently and with no issues. Not that i tried too hard, but eh.

Switch to a dedicated server and IP or use Amazon.
